  1. I'm looking to start hiring out my processor if anyone is interested. I'm in Hertfordshire. Here is a link to a video of my machine in action.
  2. i was also wondering if any of you get problems with the logs in the middle of the cages or vented bags not dying/going mouldy, as its really only the logs on the edge that get airflow??
  3. That's the issue I'm in Hertfordshire just outside London, so if your in the Midlands it's a bit of a journey
  4. That's a chainsaw and splitter job, if u was to sort out all the decent straight lengths then it could be worth u getting a processor up there. To be honest all my work is cutting and splitting arb waste, I reckon me on my own I could crash that out easily in a week if I got stuck in, but I use my processor to do the good stuff and it does save time and my body haha
  5. I take it you use a processor?? I'd so which one?
  6. Jaguar X type 2.0 or 2.2 diesel estate. Very economical around 50 to 60mpg, very comfortable nice cars, and very spacious, and it's a jaagg!
  7. Hopefully the link above works. Been doing quite a bit of splitting lately. Finnis he'd of all the rings so next job is to get back on the chainsaw, also got a small pile of cord for the processor but ill wait for that pile to grow before getting the dalen hooked up and fired up.
  8. How many people would you look to hire, also do you have spare tractors to run equipment off of or do you need the person to bring their own tractor as well?
  9. We're based in Hertfordshire we produce and sell 100 percent kiln dried American white oak kindling. There all cut to around 7 to 8inches in length. We do a 70 ltr and 50ltr sacks. Made from the same material as bulk bags. Our retail price is £10 for the 70ltr sacks and £8 for the 50ltr. Please pm me for details on wholesale prices, and for any more info you may require. We can also sell seasoned firewood in a large quantity wholesale.
  10. Been doing a bit of splitting lately, how are you guys been getting on with processing so far this year
  11. Obviously being a main income you'd want the firewood to keep going but I will now be armed out processing Al summer! It's been a good winter in terms of being rather good weather without causing damage, and it's been just about cold enough tofshift plenty of logs
  12. We've been ticking over as well probably doing 10 or so cube a week. Although it's got pretty cold for the last few days after the storm so may pick up, can't believe it's nearly March already!!
  13. I've been considering using vented bags. Do you find the middle of the bags dry out fine, do u ever get any issues with mould and if I'm to use them, I was thinking of splitting into them in the spring, stacking them 3 high in a block outside where they will be in full sun alk day a just cover the tops. Then around August September time I'd then store them inside before the weather turns bad and wet. Does that plan sound like the right thing to do??
  14. Ahh I seem to hear it from everyone that it's the best year they've had, it's our best year aswell, we have been doing at peak probably around 80 maybe pushing 90 bags a week which was during that 2/3 week spell of extremely cokd weather and a bit of snow.
  15. Thought I'd fire thus thread back up. Wondering if those of you who import have had any problems since Brexit
  16. How's everyone been getting on with sales since the new year? We were rammed out then it was consistently busy then rammed out and now it's steady without being over run! Just wondering if anyone have had a very good season and are having problems keeping up with demand etc?
  17. I've got a big pile of crappy arb waste that I need to chainsaw/ring up. Really not motivated to do it but once I get going I should be alright haha!
  18. I would recommend oxdale or what we have which is ktm. Both made in England, good quality and those speedy log splitters imo are a waste of time the look cheap and flimsy and can only split easy perfect wood that would be quicker to split by axe.
  19. We've been pretty busy doing 50 bags a week easy. We've also had a week of cold hard frost which I'm very happy about as at least the ground is firm and dry!
  20. Haha unfortunately it's turned rather mild down here so it will probably melt on route! It's made the orders come in, amazing what a bit of snow can do
  21. We had snow last night!! Never been so excited haha
  22. Haven't been doing much processing but do need to get back into the swing of things!!!
  23. We can supply ready processed firewood wholesale if you are ever caught short. Please feel free to pm me for more info. Kind regards William
  24. Well my dalen can take up to 18 inch diameter. Only downside I have is I don't have a log deck but if you have a forklift that's no big problem. All the logs I process on my processor are 8inch as it's what we sell most of.
  25. What is the largest diameter wood, also do you have a tractor to power a processor?
