  1. Just looking at the logs we have stored and we seem a little down compared to last year. Anyone feel the same that they have less and this are worried about not having enough stock!?
  2. We use local papers, website, ads in shops, leaflets, and word of mouth. Never used eBay or gum tree but I reckon it's worth a try
  3. Yep that's a valid point, it's our process is cutting and splitting seasoned logs into a dumper/ripper than the puts the logs loose in a barn, to dry further then bag by hand with a bag on the pallet forks of a for lift and then load on the truth ti be delivered with hiab
  4. Processing a a mix of hard and soft stack of cord (arb waste cord) been stacked up for around months and has seasoned rather Well, not alot allot of drying needeneeded unroll it's ready to burn
  5. So how would you suggest we do it then? If we were to cut and split into crates we would need thousands of them and they take up room and cost alot, we would still need to take logs out of cage and put into a bag to sell, besides it takes like 5 to 10 mins to fill a bag up by hand and you can visibly see every log going in so you know it's the right size, fully dry etc.
  6. We store ours in 2 large barns loose, and then put logs onto bulk bags by hand for order, we do a large volume and doing seasoned logs it's really the easiest way. He have a few cages that are full and I also bought 30 vented bags to try out that i havnt even used Yet! Should have filled them up months ago but have been busy and forgot about them
  7. We don't do kiln dried but if you ever need seasoned logs wholesale we can supply, and would prefer to supply loose in an artic, get more volume of wood, and saves us time having to package them and if your doing them in bags you can package as and when you want
  8. Ah right, can you produproduce/sell more than that or are you at your limit for your current setup
  9. Yes haha meant mixed, my phone is weird lol.
  10. Thought I'd fire this thread up again! A by one been busy with early orders and what are your projected sales targets/hopes for this season, anyone expecting it to be a good or bad year and If so why??
  11. Been back using the processor for probably only tge second time this year!!! Had a nice stack to Do, did around 20cube I'm guessing in half a day or so, wasn't pushing it, then the chain decided to come off on the last log, My fault let it get loose and didn't wanna go seating for spanners to tighten it. Hopefully the link works for a short clip of me using the machine with one hand and recording with the other!
  12. We can supply wholesale firewood, it's mikedmiles hard and soft, but generally around 70 percent hard, if not more likely to be 80percent. All naturally seasoned not kiln dried. You will have to ask for prices in terms of how you want it loose etc, but out our retail price is £50 for a bulk bag. 0.8cube bags I believe.
  13. IOn average how many cude has your machine and you been doing an hour gdh?
  14. We've been selling a few bags here and there, I'm also hoping for a cold winter but preferably with some decent spells of snow! But yh I'm amazed at how fast this summer has passed
  15. It looks like concrete, but I'm guessing as your on a farm maybe it lumps of salt, or some form food for animals etc, tbh I have no clue, is it actually wood your chipping in a wood chipper!!!??????
  16. Been doing some splitting when I've had time in between making, working in london etc. Hopefully the link will work above. What's everyone else been up to?
  17. I'm a 100 miles from you according to Google, so I may be about to far. Do you have a tractor on site than can run a processor from it's pto? I'm looking to hire my processor out, and was thinking of hiring it out either by a day rate, me and my machine and my worker, 10 hours, although willingly do longer days to get job done especially if it's far away for around £35 an hour. Travel cost id have to work out. The other alternative is to charge on production which is a fairer system but obviously more risky on my behalf. But what could you charge per cube?
  18. These are the logs that I still need to cut up with a chainsaw and split/process on the processor. This job has been going on for ages just want it done now, any one else been busy processing for the upcoming winter or even for the winter after?
  19. Yh i noticed on the video there were some big bits going up the conveyor which we did have to pull out and alit again, normally out small diameter rings through but in this video there was some big rings going in there, and really needed the 6 or 8 way knife instead of the 4 way, and having a person load makes it so much quicker.
  20. I and i think most people on here prefer to hire the machine with an operator, I'm from Hertfordshire and have been looking to hire out my machine but it runs from a p.t.o so would need a tractor there to run it.
  21. Take it your looking to hire a firewood processor? If so do you have a tractor on site? What diameter is the wood What lengths And when are you looking for this to be done?
  22. For the wood we process which is the smaller straight stuff from arb waste, my dalen is the fastest out there, it's manual for the chain/bar operation/speed so cutting little stuff is easy, the car head fully removes, it also cuts up to 18" and I've done some decent cord on it and can easily do 10 cube on my own in an hour, unfortunately lately I have been doing other work and the logs we've got is mostly all chainsaw and axe/splitter work. I do have a growing pile of cord and will get some pics for you guys.
  23. We can sell firewood wholesale, usually recommend you organise collection, were based in Hertfordshire, can supply loose or in plain white bulk bags. Please pm for more info
  24. Been back cutting log with chainsaw, havnt having been on here in a while, but yep getting back into it
