  2. I like my preachin done like this.. [ame] [/ame]An my singin like this [ame] [/ame]
  3. I'm working on solving my own mouse problem at the minute.. Not sure if I should catch em or kill em.. I want to catch em really but wonder if its worth the trouble.. The cats next to useless so was working on using a trap of sorts.. Now rats, can't ****** stand them, woke up one night some years back to the noise of one scurrying under the bed, I heard it squeeze under the bedroom door to make what I assumed must be its nightly food rounds... I got out of bed and went to find somethin to block the door off so it couldn't get back in. Nailed a piece of thin plywood to the bottom of the door thinkin it'd do the trick until the morn when I could set to work on somethin more permanent.. Fell back asleep only to wake up to the sound of the rat attempting to bash its way back in,,, (hahah, never get in I thought and went back to sleep).. Got up, piece of wood knocked off the door and feathers leading under the bed.. Moved the bed to find a dead headless pigeon wedged into what must of been the rats escape hole.... to think it must of bin livin there for a while an I never knew it.. Anyways, never again, any rats round here gets it anyway which way I can get em..
  4. I once bought a beef an ale pie, or was it a stew.. what a load of ****.... never again. Rule of thumb, never ever buy somethin with alcohol in it..food wise..
  5. I wouldn't be seen dead doin, (who said it?) a chav run LOL
  6. walking around a public park I happened on a taped off area were some bushes were being pruned tidied up by the parks team.. Must of bin workin at least ten to fifteen feet from the public footpath that had bin closed off.. Now I didn't know whether the tape to cordon off the area was for the public's benefit or for those doin the job. IE, the fear of a moronic worker injuring a passer by... Maybe thats the problem, sometimes it might look to others that the morons are inside the taped off area?..
  7. seems to me if white works, I'm presuming it does?. The you have your own solution.. Use white in winter...better than putting a flame thrower on it first thing in the morning I imagine LOL..
  8. nice pics Dan.. Takes me back to my own camping experience walking Adrians Wall this summer... First proper camping out I've done.. I loved it..
  9. Miserable sod, does it matter if its in the daily mail?... Is the story true?... have the daily mail made it up?.. Now, either get with the program and stop spoiling folks fun... Now, do you, or do you not sing to your logs?..
  10. I suppose if you put a lot of work into them, you begrudge burning them.. If I've any logs, they certainly hang around longer than anythin else thats nockin about LOL..
  11. Not sure about the collective memory thing, but your right in that the Jesus story is overlaid with older pagan traditions.. If I had to point to the reasons Christianity became successful its because the story makes a bloody good read.. Its that simple... Now, if you want argue the motives of why it was written then thats a different subject..
  12. I almost admire him for his cheek.. Still, not very funny bein on the receiving end though..
  13. Yea, tryin to backtrack methinks... Truth is, anyone as intelligent as him, not to mention as educated knows they're only fooling themselves when it comes talking about their beliefs.. The other day, the curtain slipped a little.. I guarantee, that if you asked him what he really believed, and you promised not let the cat out the bag if he told you, he'd say his beliefs are a parable.. That is to say, the Jesus story is meant be read as nothing more than a parable.. No doubt if he said that, he'd be crucified by the media..
  14. What a load of cobblers... Not only that, who cares?...
  15. Yea, it certainly does.. meanwhile my stoves on in the kitchen why I sit freezing in the next room.. Still Mr Idiots pics have warmed me up no end...
  16. OK felix I know your dyin to post it, lets have it then... Oh an by the way, tomorrows job sheet includes workin out how to post pics on this thing...
  17. Well then, if he ever gets round to buying one, I hope it gets bricked on his first day out...
  18. Thanks Joe, saved me a lot of faffing about, not that I was gonna spend to much time rootin around for an old thread... still, I did find the offending post an it was Felixthecloghopper.. and it seems I should amend my post to him, to whit.. Fexithecloghopper, I wish a passerby throws a brick in your chipper..
  19. Errmm I can't seem to find that brick throwing thread, perhaps I'm confusing you with someone else... Can't think who though, anyway thats the thing I was getting at, not that someone had called an assistant a brush dragger but the underlying tone of what was being said.. And, if it wasn't you, why not just say that?... politely
  20. Why would anyone do that?.. Richard is comparing wage comparisons betwixt a tree climber and an assistant helping him out.. Where if memory serves you was looking down your nose at your help...had nothing to do with the description of the job at all.. That being the case why everyone imagined otherwise and tried to make light of the job description is a mystery..
  21. The root of the problem is the Koran, simple as that.. The author didn't know if he was attempting to write a holy book or a war manual.. I hasten to add I'm no expert on the Koran, but I have investigated it a little.. that bein the case its obvious to me that parts of the Koran have been influenced by Jewish thinking and parts by Christian thinking.. And parts by the military ethics of the time... Its in that context that these religious fanatics can justify their atrocities to themselves and other Muslims.. and why moderate Muslims find it hard to argue against them.. Now considering we can't exactly change whats in the Koran, the next best thing is to keep Muslims on their side of the fence.... I mean, How often have I heard them say "its because you're in Muslim lands", well, we'll get out of yours, you get out of ours.. Simple...
  22. Last time BT came round to fix my broken line the fella came in the house to tidy things up. I wish he didn't bother, cost me about £150 or more... So yea, any chance to empty their pockets get on with it..
  23. I wish I could congratulate you on your taste in books, but I've never read a terry pratchet book so can't really comment, I'm sure they're worth a read though.. I've moved my book collection to my Kindle mostly history books about the ancient world with a few classics thrown in for light relief.. Well done on the shelves, nothin like building your own stuff when you can..
  24. Yea an this comment gets my goat as well, the underlying tone being a threat to management that they better do something about it... Now don't get me wrong, I to found the comment a little offensive, but more because its something that hadn't been thought through.. But then again, cider an thinking aren't usually a good guide to what someone really thinks.. And, given the fact 130 people had just been murdered in cold blood, he and everyone else has a right to vent to get it out their system..
  25. I'd guess the same reason atrocities committed far away don't register as much as those committed close to home... not to mention the French are our next door neighbors.. which for me is something of a pity, I prefer the Germans...
