    Early autumn mornings,not cold just kinda crisp.The kind of day you pray for in the summer wearing your cutting trousers.Reaching the crown and taking in the view-bliss. Nice bums r a given!

    We used to use hand and arm vibration modules on all our equiptment,works kinda like traffic lights,green for good amber for nearing your max daily allowance and red for maximum daily vibrations reached-stop cutting.The amount of modules we lost when climbing was costing a fortune and as such our employers got us to fill in paperwork on HAV's instead.We rarely do. Makes you think though.Great thread silkyfox

    Depends on your feet,ive got wierd shaped feet so i only get haix.Meindls r to narrow for me or id plum for those cause they just look great

    Gave up 2 years back,i wont lie its bloody hard,any kind of nicotine replacement will make the difference between quitting or relapsing.Good luck guys u can do it if u really want to.

    Its whatever you enjoy i suppose.Ive seen some workout plans for german volume training.tbh it scared the beejesus out of me just looked to brutal haha.Im not really into heavy training my joints take enough pounding climbing.Cant beat the feeling of leaving nothing but sweat on the gym floor no matter what training regime you follow

    I suppose it comes down to what you enjoy doing,personally im just not cut out to be a climber who piroettes around a tree makin it look easy.Im a physical climber,i sweat and love removals -25% reductions? Let the other guy do that

    Earning Money will always be the driving force and yeah weve all butchered trees at a clients request,doesnt make you a bad climber just the need to get paid superseeds everything else

    I agree but if you were to generalise your performance how do you see yourself ? Do you prefer the finess jobs or the cut and chucks?

    Weight training does it for me,nothing heavy or extreme though,it just helps me relax wierdly! Oh and dickin about with chainsaws

    Totally agree mark,In LA work the priority is always safety before productivity but the private sector is definetly productivity driven.Watching these guys go at it you can see them just knockin out tree after tree to earn as much as possible.It makes for a different class of climber when your earning per tree

    Reg is kinda regarded by some of us,cant speak for all of the guys on here,as the kind of climber us average guys aspire to be like.Hope thats cleared it up for you Better go,i can hear stuff being sharpened!

    Hey all,Being the wrong side of 40(a while ago i might add),i came into climbing late in life.I do however pride myself on my professionalism,positive work ethic and attention to detail,even though i work for my local authority! and subbie to a local tree company.Our council work load recently has almost doubled and as a consequence we have had to sub contract some work out. On friday we worked with a private company and watching these guys work took my breath away,so quick around the tree so fluent it was literally a sight too behold. It honestly made me feel sub standard as a climber,now im no reg coates but i thought i was a pretty decent climber. So my question is this"what are you ? A Reg Coates or a hacker?

    Got one the other day,havent tried it yet.Wil comment when i do,although it doesnt seem any lighter than the stihl rollomatic

    Sorry but a hitch is midline attachable,doesnt need cams replacing and can be advanced one handed with a pulley or a shizll rope slider with about a quarter of the cost! Just doesnt seem worth the money or hassle too buy an art positioner too me
