Hey all,Im looking to get a decent winter work jacket,im lookin for mid range as im skint and cant afford cut and climb.I need it for climbing and ground work.I came across the strein kreiger work smok and wondered if anyone has one or knows someone with one.opinions would be much appreciated. Much obliged

  6. Yip totally agree steve we only do it cause our boss is a total pr!@k and makes us,even though no one has ever had an accident with a saw up a tree,wish i could say the same for the mewp users though!

  8. Totally agree mate,self rescue is your best chance in a serious injury up a tree situation.Any of you older guys (no offence) or more experienced guys practice your aerial rescues?

  12. Hey all, One of our young lads on the squad has just got his cs38 tree climbing and aerial rescue ticket and is all keen to climb. Seeing him hip thrust on a prussik took me back to the days when i did the same.I gave it a bash and im ashamed to say i kinda struggled.What with climbing kit technology advances in the last couple of years ive become dependant on ascenders and mechanical hitches. Does anyone out there still dabble with the hip thrust and prussik? Give us your stories

I appreciate your proffesionalism but if it were me id take the money and run.Ive seen awful tree work but normal untrained people dont know any better and wouldnt batter an eyelid.If im being honest ive butchered some trees aswell to make a client happy.All you can do is advise,if they wont c sense-do it there way and get paid.

  16. I had similar problem with my ms180 ages ago turns out it was the exhaust/muffler gasket.worth a try!
  17. If its the wheeled one,it can be lifted on to the back of a tipper and lashed down.Ours broke after some cherry limbs give it a hiding and we didnt replace it.Is it the 18 hp model?
  18. Had several over the years,the best was end of last year,wasnt that high up maybe 40 feet-ish on a ash we had reduced,on way back to stem just slipped and fell ass first about 6 foot.lesson learned-always tend slack

Hey all,Recently bought a teufelberger(think thats how you spell it) 95cm eye to eye,i use it on a hitch climber set up,sometimes vt sometimes distel,problem is im finding its glazing pretty quick.Im not trashing cord through rapid decents and all my others hitch cords have lasted significantly longer. Anyone out there had the same issue?? Thoughts/opinions appreciated
