  1. All climbing trousers are expensive imo,ive never worn hiflex so i ccouldnt comment, but breathflex are 200quid,its an expensive punt mate.As for xfit, yeah they re good but again very expensive. Have you priced husky trousers?
  2. Depends what your using them for really, ground or climbing. For me i climb with them so they're not worth the price tag,the crotch split on mines pretty quick, the back support pad is very stiff and rubs against your back, the front belt loops are very wide appart creating a nice big baggy area great for catching woodchips. That said thre are some plus points to the breathflex trousers, there light, fairly breathable and look good. I recently converted to pfanner gladiators and only were them or stihl xfit (when my pfanners are in the wash). Others may recommend them but my opinion is they're not worth the guts of £200 price tag.
  3. What zigzag story is that then???
  4. Pollarding our street limes, lots of lane closures....so that means lots of abuse....great
  5. So yes u can use it then
  6. Ive had a 35 meter 13mm marlow gecko rope for couple of years, its held up well.
  7. I use old krabs on my harness for slings, prussik etc,u cant use it for life support or lanyard though if it failed its loler.
  8. I would agree harness choice is very much a personal choice,im not sure how i would describe my climbing style, but as a tree surgeon id say i climb ropes rather than trees. I still have my petzl sit harness which i used for ariel rescue course and then retired it.Maybe it would be good for spiking and pole work.just my opinion
  9. Yeah sorry to burst your bubble mate.Im pretty sure the sit and sit fast harnesses were designed to be combined with the petzl top croll chest harness to also make it a fall arrest harness. But steer clear
  10. Wouldnt recommend petzl avao harness for professional climber, part time or recreational possibley. I found it tortured my knackers, little to no back support and the fixed anchor ring is extremly limiting when moving around the tree and getting into a comfy work position. Its cheap for a reason-its crap
  11. Return it and get a better saw,231 is underpowered imo.
  12. I love stuff like that-majic,thanx for sharing mr lee

  16. Hi bird,do yourself a favour keep working for your dad,ive just read this whole thread and it sounds like your head is all over the place.Keep working for yourself part time, that way you can gain valuable experience and build up a good client base. Getting a business up and running and in profit takes time and experience which by the sounds of things you have very little of both. Im not being rude but your trying to sprint before you can crawl.Remember there are many other companies out there better equiped, more experienced and have a established quality reputation. Money is not the everything you know
  17. Are those peanut biccys the reeces peanut butter ones mick?
  18. Anyone else keep a packet of biscuits in the van? The biscuit of choice in ours recently is rich tea-with jam on top...majic.

  23. Some days id love to joe however,my employers(local council) say chainsaw gloves are PPE and as such must be worn. The only option i see is to prove that chainsaw gloves offer no additional protection when operating a chainsaw. All the guys in the squad agree,my boss however is a different matter.
