  1. Wot he said or small froe or hand axe
  2. The last lot I did, I prepacked with firelighters and wrapped in cheap clingfilm to keep dry and ready to go, suprising how efficient they can be.
  3. I didnt say it wasnt a recordable offence I was commenting on the investigative paths forces take.
  4. If the garage make an agreement with you to come back and pay, and you dont, this is then a civil recovery not a criminal act, same as if there is no "dishonesty" at the time of making off, most Police forces classs as a civil debt rather than a criminal offence, may get recorded but not investigated it is up to the fuel provider to chase via civil courts.
  5. Yes what Steve said......
  6. Mark, I have recently been using Rye Oils Decking oil, seems to be pretty good and I have used on both soft and hard wood gates and furniture, my be worth a try in the future. S.
  7. My Step Father Mr Peter POTTER is one of the last surviving Lancaster crew members of 626 squadron - he still goes flying albeit as a passenger now - well in his 90`s a privilidge to be related to one of our countries heros.
  8. First job get it cut or split along the grain and in stick to start drying - green wood will not be suitable for chopping boards. Once you have it planked a simple job could be done with hand tools and a jig saw.
  9. This is the little beastie, cheap as chips built like and possible from tanks, ideal hedgerow gun and around farm buildings and live stock, ticks all the boxes for me, and a nice change from an O/U.
  10. That's a heavy load, what you putting them through?
  11. No 30g no 6`s, the moderator on the single barrel is far longer than on the Mossberg and similar so offers far more suppression, thought I would struggle not having that extra shot but it has improved my shooting no end, I also choose my birds more sensibly and one shot one kill, averaged 1.5 to one last night with a bag of 30 + from bale hide on the flight line, no decoys.
  12. Same for me, got the license to cover spread of disease, still waiting for the crop license but carrying on - just got a fully moderated hushpower 12b for over the peas, cracking little thing and is sooo much quieter, single shot so it sharpens you up to.
  13. So with all this hoohah over the general license debacle - is anyone managing to keep on top of the woodies now the peas are up?
  14. I have two teenage kids who I have not seen or heard from in over 5 years, they live with their mum less than a mile away - I have tried but ex is a very controlling person - If you can put oil on troubled waters would be good, but sometimes there is nothing you can do, don't do or don't do, anything that you will regret in the future.
  15. don't SPOIL HIM........
  16. The saws can be cleaned easily by soaking in Citric acid for a day or so.
  17. try Oxalic acid to get rid of the stains - some gates I made this year I treated with Rye Oil`s Decking oil, very easy to apply and reapply.
  18. I was watching some woodies yesterday on the local estate, they were feeding on a sown pea field, I assumed they were eating the pea shoots, however on further surveillance I noticed they were only feeding under oak trees, nowhere else on the field. I had a wander around and sat under a big canopied oak trying to see what they were eating. now there was some late blossom on the ground but it appears they were after a type of caterpillar that was coming down on a silk rope from up in the oak I watched several of the little paratroopers come down as I sat there - anyone seen similar or where they just eating the fallen blossom and debris from the tree?
  19. Hmmm not convinced oak is going to be the best, I like the idea of cedar or larch, or as Steve suggested Douglas Fir. Would be easier to work to.
  20. How is it priced, per ft, per board or cubic ft etc,
  21. Well took it out yesterday and very impressed with the sound suppression, will have a look at the ports and tidy up as required. When I purchased it the RFD said due to the trade embargo with Russia there are no Baikals coming into the country, mine was one of only 6 in the uk, some dealers were doubling the price - I like Baikals as they are made like tanks, and possibly from tanks and are ideal as a rough shoot gun. Anyways main thing is I can hit with it had a couple out to 50 yards so cant be too bad.
  22. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/wild-birds-licence-to-control-certain-species#history As long as you can evidence have and still use non lethal methods and that the crop is covered under the description within the license..... But who and how this will ever be policed defies me.
  23. Been digging about on the WWW and is mixed, however rather than make myself problems I got a slab of Fibre wad 6`s - and dam the expense!!
  24. Just got me a 12b with fully moderated barrel by hush power - now my dilemma is that there is conflicting info on the WWW as to whether to use fiber or plastic wads, some say that the plastic wads can become lodged to the baffles of the moderator. But as I have just bought a couple of slabs of plastic wad cartridges I do not want to have to shell out for a different slab if I can use what I have with no ill effects
