  1. Refurbished my .410 that I keep on the ATV when feeding the shoot.
  2. In my experience unless you turn it whilst green most fruit woods split very badly when drying. I think the crotch pieces are the best bet and would make nice grain patterns on hollow forms or bowls. There is loads on Google on the best way to cut for various end usages.
  3. Yes Webley & Scott bolt action, such a simple gun - it does a treat for small vermin, only chambered for 2-1/2" so all smoke and noise compared to the more modern 3" magnum .410`s but does it for me.....
  4. The depth of the burn can vary, but only a mm or two at deepest, might try some resin inlay next time. I must admit it looks deeper in the above images.
  5. Had my little .410 for many years and always with me on the ATV when feeding the shoot. She was looking old and tired so decided to refurb the stock with some fractal cammo!!!!!!
  6. I guess we have to be realistic in these time of austerity, if plod attended "the scene" what could he realistically do, no cctv no forensics, no witness no lines of enquiry..... I like everyone would like the reassurance of local patrols, regular visits and every crime victim seen and reassured but I think those days are long gone and we have to accepts the changes like it or not. I guessed the crime number is for insurance and the local mags for you to identify the stolen items, in this case I don't see what plod could have done which would make any difference to the outcome. Harsh but fact.
  7. I got mine yesterday from the states, appears as safe as they can be with 12,000 volts wizzing about, seriously fascinating process. I got rubber mat for bench and floor, but the unit itself is very well made and simple to use with great inbuilt safety features, and best of all, no radiation.
  8. www.conestogaworks.com I just purchased a commercial unit, whilst not a safe pastime, like any other machine or tool, if used correctly the risks are minimized. There are some good video links on the above site, I can vouch the unit works a treat. Fractals video.mp4
  9. Aha all becomes clear, will do, and many thanks.
  10. I drain the saws each year but I guess some gets left behind, so for a fiver I will mix a little up and use it on the final run hopefully it will help, if not its a cheap try.
  11. Thanks guys, I have ordered some fuel fit and will run the saws with this before draining and storing, will be interesting to see if there is a difference.
  12. being only a hobby user myself so I am lucky enough to have periods when my saws are not used. I had a few issues with fuel going stale even though I did drain all the saws as best I could. Took some turning over to flush through with fresh fuel and get them running again. So can anyone offer advice to prevent this happening or similar issues in the future. Would running Aspen through them before storage negate the issues or is it just something I will have to overcome each spring? Stuart
  13. The orders must ne "rolling" in!!
  14. Did the timberpro kit ever hit the market? my timberpro is still going strong, not even a recoil cord snapped. you gotta love them for the price. Now got three Chinese saws and change from £200, got a bargain off Flea Bay Spares or repair, had never been run as they couldn't adjust the carb - £40. Lol Cheap as chips and disposable at that price.
  15. Not had a go myself yet stuck at work but its on the to do list, yes lets see some that have been done or a W.I.P.
  16. Cheers Khriss, will keep the missus happy if I fail!!!!!!!
  17. That's favoritism that is.........
  18. Your not helping much... Lol just fancy a go with one of my saws as have some logs which are too big to easily get on the lathe.......
  19. I turn some quite large garden mushrooms on my VB36 lathe, can someone give me a quick sequence of carving a simple one with a chainsaw, seems like a fairly simple project to have a try at?
  20. Got a swift reply as below at today rate it is £317 delivered plus £20 for the transformer I have sent several of the Lichtenberg Figure Wood Burners to the UK. I ship the burners via USPS Priority Mail and it normally takes around 6 days for arrival. I ship the burners the same day or the next business day on receipt of the order. The cost of the burner is $299.00 (USD) and the shipping is $106.00 (USD). You may order the burner through the website www.conestogaworks.com . Please be aware that the burner operates on 120 volts and will require a step-down transformer. The majority of my European customers purchase the step-down transformers locally or through e-bay. I recommend a minimum of 500 watts to ensure a safe margin of power. This is an example of the transformer available to you via eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Step-Down-Up-Transformer-230V-110V-AC-UK-to-US-Voltage-Converter-500W-1KW-AX/222928070807?hash=item33e78c6897:m:mmIRzIbzlpu1NT9p4yriJVg. You can also purchase the transformer locally from any electrical supply. I have attached several documents for your review. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
