  1. True, but a saving of 20 plus grand can pay for a lot of rental if it does have a few issues. If you keep the Quadchip you'll always have a back up, plus the smaller chipper for domestic small scale stuff where 68hp is overkill. Just musings really. Your circus, your monkeys.
  2. USED Wood Chippers, JENSEN A328DI 9" X 11" - CATEGORY: WOOD CHIPPERS offered for sale £7000.00 As an example, even if you had to spend a couple of grand on it.
  3. A lot of bigger (used) chippers very cheap around atm. You can take a chance on one. and keep the qchip.
  4. There was loads on the breakfast shows.
  5. But not protected by law. Except for publicly owned trees.
  6. Does look like blackbird, this from google.
  7. More good news....or is it schadenfreude?
  8. Sure, I better mow the lawn, I'm not looking to create issues on this thread, I like Jules's posts, and the others on this thread, a lot of brains and knowledge about this game and the law. I do think that as someone who has had to operate with TPOs and then moved to a place where they don't exist I could offer another viewpoint.
  9. I just find the idea that without TPOs and tree officers all trees would be felled in towns in months to be ridiculous. My experience here is very different, people plant trees in their gardens the same as anywhere.
  10. I only voted on number 3 on the poll. My responses are to the questions in the OP.
  11. So we're all going to die without TPOs?
  12. I took each question as a separate entity.
  13. But do children gasp for oxygen in a concrete desert where there are no TPOs?
  14. 1. doesn't need answering bearing in mind 3/4 2. It's been a decade since I dealt with it, but I'm coming back soon to reduce two tpo'd trees for family members and have been dismayed by the paperwork needed for reductions on what I regard as transitory, low value trees, ie birch. Still, you won't get many TOs on here saying the same, turkeys don't vote for Christmas do they?
  15. I'll give my opinion on 3 and 4 3: reduce the number of trees with TPOs by 95% 4: not very much if my experience here is anything to go by.
  16. Hi ciaran, this threads five years old. Plenty more recent on the same theme though!
  17. Just out of curiosity I checked the price in the UK for that rear lens. £22.50 against €140 here.
  18. Its an unusual departure from your usual modus operandi that's all, insulting members of my family.
  19. Crikey, that's a mess. Last night I backed into my truck with my pick up, broke exactly the same lens (€140) that I broke doing exactly the same thing 2 weeks ago. Muppetry!
