  1. I genuinely don't find your posts funny at all. Can't please them all I guess.
  2. Lot of good pictures, but this is my favourite. All it needs is a deer crossing the road or something.
  3. Well I'm blowed! No idea she was still alive, 95, not a bad innings, I loved The Quiet Man.
  4. Glad you're enjoying it Steph, fun when grinding is a bit weird for me. I just think about the money if I'm honest!
  5. Well, has anyone had their insurance voided after an accident then?
  6. Wasn't really worried about it (certainly over here) just curious if anyone has been prosecuted
  7. For instance my Transits (when I was in the UK and here) have a welded up framework and board closing it in, as have many of us, if that is in contravention has any tree company ever been prosecuted?
  8. Interesting, does anyone know of any prosecutions for this?
  9. Charming. Warms my old heart to see the leftards bitch and blame others like the media or in this case the "thick" electorate.
  10. Ok Kevin, I'll try to figure out. I think there's a thread on The House about it.
  11. S'right, I spend a lot of time looking at my jobs and working out the quickest way of getting the tree from standing in the garden to in little pieces in the back of the trucks. Which of course means the clients cheque from his book into my bank account. Where's the bottleneck? Chipper not big enough? Get a bigger chipper, spend all afternoon ringing up and hand balling wood into the truck? Get a loader of some sort. Getting wood on the ground i.e. Giving the groundies something to do is never a problem. Poor sods.
  12. They're a Stihl dealer, of course they're going to try to sell the Stihl stuff.
  13. Sure Carlos, but how close to the SWL are we going in reality? Even with glazed rope.
  14. Not saying I don't use pulleys, just not as a default.
  15. But what about multiple rigging points? Moving pulleys/xrings around takes time and effort. Glaze your rope a bit in a couple of months? No biggy, buy another, how much did your rope cost?
  16. I suppose that depends if you let it run. Why be so precious about 100 quids worth of rope?
  17. They are handy and easy to install, no argument there.
  18. How much is lowering rope? 2quid a meter? 100 quid for 50 meters, a quick hedge trim on the way home. Just replace it regularly.
  19. So your saying they should practice it even when not necessary for the time when it is? Ok fair point.
  20. [ame] [/ame] Substitute tongue brushing for more rings and slings.
  21. Just after people's thoughts one way or another, do I have a point or am I completely stuck doing "Flintstones" tree work?
