  1. Watched my old Ifor Williams disappear down the drive after selling it for €250 less than I paid for it 8 years ago! That is a happy day!
  2. Camper van man loves his camper van, nothing wrong with that. I suspect that if something happens then it's an insurance claim against the trees owner. That's what insurance is for I guess. That's all it is though, a guess, Jules (dalton trees) is the go to man for this stuff. Perhaps if the owner rattled off some letters explaining how his hands are tied and that he cannot remove/prune the tree it might count in his favour if it hits the fan. When you say the other guy is a "tree hater" you're just setting up a "goody/baddy scenario.
  3. Nice work, nicely edited.
  4. "Greed" really? The guy asked for more money, you pay it or you don't, hardly greed.
  5. I don't think you understand the way this business works sometimes.
  6. I am stupid on a regular basis.
  7. I'm not sure, take yesterday for example, I'd been up some pines for a couple of hours, lot of brash on the floor, 2 guys chipping. Now the 372 needed a tickle, nothing major, just a touch up, so I took it to the back of the van and got it nice for the felling and ringing up while the guys finished the chipping. I get a little break and they don't feel resentful that I'm just standing there looking at them smoking a fag. (I don't smoke btw but you know what I mean)
  8. That's probably the best solution I've seen.
  9. Oh bollocks to it! I try to only take one day off a week due to the weather, didn't work Wednesday because of the rain/wind but it's worse today. Cancelled today.
  10. I would say the 10/12 week course would be your ideal next step.
  11. I've got well over 2000 hrs and 12 years on my TW150, it doesn't come out every day now, but it still does a job when needed, a lot depends on your "ear" for issues and your maintenance.
  12. I've used a tw230 and I thought it was spectacularly good. Wasn't the 240 a shredder?
  13. You mean talk of regularly cleaning of crevices is grossly exaggerated?
  14. Air filters are on my list of things I actually do.
  15. Further to another thread. I have never changed a fuel filter in a petrol tank. I have never greased a bar tip on any saw or the clutch bearing on a husky. I have never cleaned the fins on my 2 strokes. In twenty years I have not changed more than 10spark plugs on the saws/strimmers/hedge cutters. When I have it's usually in an effort to fix a saw, and it hasn't worked. Despite all this my saws/bars seem to last as long as anyone's. I'm perplexed, what am I doing wrong, or right?
  16. You can start with a pressure test on the crank seals. Carb issues etc... They're getting on a bit now. Spud will give you the lowdown in a bit I expect.
  17. Rain & wind stopped play today. Picked up a new trailer though, so not all bad!
  18. Long shot really, I'm looking at this for a yard/general purpose machine. Don't really know much about them, 6 tonnes, 4wd. 3500 hrs 12000€ Anyone know anything? Not much on Google.
  19. Fair enough Gary. They'd be a lot of people going straight home from some of the outfits I've been associated with!
