  1. I am, in fact, the owner of a decent head of hair.
  2. I don't think Bob sells logs (at least not to the public) and from what I've seen of the work he does, standing there collecting the odd 10 or 20 isn't really worth the hassle or man hours.
  3. Manners cost nothing. A nice touch.
  4. Stranger things have happened. He is still a relatively young man.
  5. Awaiting developments with interest.
  6. The whole thing is a big disappointment. A monumental waste of time. Back to the drawing board.
  7. Missed that one. Reminds me of "embiggens" Invented by Jebediah Springfield.
  8. As soon as I read your post Ted I could tell Clinton had the best of it:001_smile: So I watched the reports on the news. She looked in control, better prepared and showed stamina.
  9. On reflection, I take your point.
  10. Not at all, it was a good debate:001_smile:
  11. Fair enough, if it's just for bits and bobs and you do forestry mostly, it's a good choice.
  12. What an odd post. "I do expect my choice is respected" who's "disrepecting" your choice? I just pointed out that a 200 quid saving on a saw that will last three years, maybe around 600 days work. So you're saving 33p a day. A packet of crisps. Now if the Echo is as good as the Stihl equivalent fair enough, but if they were the same price what would you buy? ps, Isn't validating your choice by knocking others (saying the Stihl isn't worth the extra money) exactly what you did?
  13. Nice clear up. Good looking springer as well.
  14. What's 200 quid? a little 1 or 2 hour job on the way home?
  15. It's his "sig" it has been annoying me for a bit as well. In an ideal world he'd put it lower or under a line or something so we didn't read it as part of the post.
  16. I'd quite like Julia Bradbury around my neck Ted, just the thought of it has got me reaching for my "top handle" Thanks for the image!
  17. Some consider her a bit "mannish" I actually like the bare thing (leylandii) it shows the climber had a good eye for a level.
  18. When I saw the title I thought the thread was about Julia Bradbury. When I see stuff like that I always wonder if the client thinks it's coming back next spring. Don't bother me none.
  19. "Trust your instincts"? It's a chance to quote a small domestic job nearby, not an invite to Spooky Island.
  20. If it's not far just go round and do the quote as normal. ps can nobody spell BEECH?
  21. Quite. Question; "Is this hydrangea/rhody/lilac precious?" Answer 1; "No I've always hated it" Break out the bigger saws Answer 2; "my sainted grandmother planted it the day I was born" Out comes the 150 It always pays to ask.
  22. Any reason why you cannot use a brushcutter? Back in the day I did bigger areas than that. Gutty but doable.
  23. Best post by far on a slightly silly thread.
