  1. I’d go with an older pre auto tune model, I have a Husky 288 that’s barely used these days that would be ideal.
  2. In the last century before digital pictures, mobile phones etc. A lot of stuff got done (and didn’t get done) because of difficulty identifying exactly what tree was to be felled.
  3. Somewhere very flat I imagine.
  4. Scary stuff, presumably that’s the ledge you ended up on. Chapeau to the rescue team, brave men.
  5. I don’t know, for me it’s debt, guilt, habit and just that the day is long and boring if you don’t do something ‘productive’.
  6. What’s happened here then? Looks painful.
  7. No, Gensetsteve now I think about it.
  8. There was a guy on here a while back, can’t recall who. He dropped off some wood and the guy phoned up and tried it on, saying there was loads of bark and dust and offered him a bit less for it. “Fine” says he, got in his truck picked it all up, including the inevitable bits of detritus, said never to call him again and left.
  9. One of my favourite clips, answers the question.
  10. I saw it, but decided against it, didn’t seem appropriate. Aerial is the hill I’m going to die on, along with..
  11. Great informative post and use of the word ‘begets’ a long neglected word that needs bringing back.
  12. I can for a bit Khriss, but not for ever.
  13. He does, a ported saw will exceed noise limits put in place by research into hearing by experts etc. (Blah blah) Even with protection in place damage could happen. Don't get me wrong, I’m no safety nazi, but noise is as big an issue as emissions with these modifications, both to the user and the public.
  14. In a similar discussion elsewhere on the internet an experienced logger is asked why he doesn’t use ported saws. He says it’s because he values what he has left of his hearing. Something that hasn’t been mentioned so far on this thread.
  15. You’re prolly right, though the lyrics are (to the modern eye) suspect. Try “working on the highway” Big fan of Bruce as well here btw.
  16. Oh ah just a little bit, oh ah a little bit more, you know what I’m asking for: Gina G (not sure but sounds rude)
  17. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-46413209 You do wonder what other older songs viewed through contemporary #metoo eyes will be swept away into the past. Suggestions please. Under my thumb: Rolling Stones (in relalationship mind control) Mama, he’s making eyes at me: Lena Zavaroni (consent issues) I’m on fire: Bruce Springsteen: (Underage sex)
  18. Nice pics of the pops in front of the flats in the mist.
  19. End of climb line is standard stuff, but I’ll lock the rope round a stub, then lower with two free hands. Biggest problem with it is when the piece entangles itself in the loop of your line. For that reason I’ll try,and keep it for pieces I can easily lift back up to free them.
