  1. Dunno then Don, nothing too dramatic anyway, you tried pressing on the link?
  2. Would you believe it was the tow bar attachement for the MO, we took it off to refit the grapple. We were ferrying wood to the rear of the garden, and I looked at it sitting on the ground half a dozen times and thought “you don’t want to run that over Mick, that’ll pop a tyre” Then I was daydreaming on the machine and ran it over. TWAT.
  3. https://www.instagram.com/p/CIlWm4LBt8r/?igshid=emf9frsj3bgr Couple of fells, bit of climbing. Managed to puncture the tyre on the loader running over something I knew was there, but forgot after the 20th pass. Muppetry!
  4. Dunno about that, if I’m slack and a sweet job comes up I’m doing it ASAP, I’m not going to wait weeks sitting around just to look busy. You can always tell the client someone just cancelled so you’re free.
  5. Going well atm, very busy thankfully. As for the apprentice, he’s making good progress. He was up a fir today, roped the top out nicely, which can be a bit nerve racking. His stint with you was solid gold, thanks. Most days have a ‘Don’ story, with the voices and everything!
  6. Careful on that towpath Don! Don’t want to be fishing that machinery out of the drink. Nice work
  7. Hey, maybe there were fungal issues I don’t know about, just going by the photos. Armchair quarterback here of course.
  8. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  9. re. @AWarb00 ‘s post That ash had been topped more than a quarter of a century ago, pretty crudely by the look of it, and yet look at it, good attachement points, healthy crown. Now I’m not saying it’s a good thing to do, but all this talk of the horror of topping and banning reductions in some LAs, and it having no place in modern tree work should have a look at those photos.
  10. You can be busy because you’re too cheap.
  11. Surely it’s time for the phrases ‘panic regrowth’ and ‘ticking time bomb’ to appear?
  12. Cover half the radiator on the way to the centre so it gets the engine hotter than normal.
  13. Still rocking the battery saw @bigtreedon? Are you a big fan?
  14. That’s right Mark. Your wife finds you in your underwear, drunk in the workshop with some younger men and she’s the unreasonable one!
  15. Yeah weather was good as it happens. I just hate it when other agencies are involved and you can’t just call it off if the weather is bad or you’re ill.
  16. Dépends on how much work there is in the books. But as a rule, yes. That tree wasn’t really difficult, just a ballache, road closure, power cut off, cutting and lowering tiny pieces.
  17. Good thread bump @SamanthaSunny This piece of filth was surrounded by wires, with a pocket handkerchief garden as the drop zone. A few years back now.
  18. Rivers and pond clearance is great work, love seeing those shitty pops, willows alder etc. being put to the sword and a new landscape appearing.
  19. Well I won’t be going or anything, but that Jeremy Barrell sounds like my kind of guy. Pragmatist with real world experience, not a dogma driven zealot.
  20. Probably be sorted when Steve does the upgrade.
  21. Like it or not, you ‘do’ social media.
  22. I don’t think the fox is in any danger in the near future.
