  1. Yeah I saw them, look good but as Joe said give a good climber something like that to use and you'll think there the dogs nuts. Also depends how comfy they are, I do love the carbon geckos myself
  2. Not sure they had to aim around nob height but nice to know my wedding tackle will be safe I guess 😊
  3. I understood haha
  4. It sounds like a 3to1 set up kind of thing. Not sure if this is what your on about. Will try and get some pics. I use it to pull trees over when there's not enough guys on the deck to do it by themselves. In a rigging situation it would effectively be the same principles just adding the capstan to avoid the top falling to the deck. Does this sound like the kind of thing you were on about?
  5. Chucked it down here, lovely slippery sycamore takedown over a sea of sheds and green houses. Not a happy bunny, but the shower and a cuppa off the misses as soon as I walked in was enough to bring my spirits back up. The only problem is the drenched through trousers that not even the log burner can sort out for tomorrow. What do others do? Have a spare pair at the ready? I've got an old pair but they are more holes than not :-/
  6. Yeah great thread. Got me interested for sure. Time to start growing some Birch for retirement I thing 😉
  7. It's nice to have things shaking up a bit. Been getting tired of the top 4 running the show. Good on them.
  8. Finally some good news on this front. Pleased to hear it mate
  9. It will pass. A guy who I went to college with got it all the time, could have been tap dancing. But when I bumped in to him a few years later he was a bloody quick fluent climber. Also I'd point out that that adrenalin (if it is that) will keep you focused on the task in hand. I get it every now and then topping tall skinny poles as others have said. Thinking about it when I get that I just relax and spend a minute or so composing myself.
  10. Good post. The shower and cup of tea are always 10 times better after a day like that. Live and learn as they say.
  11. Yeah your probably right
  12. This auto tuning malarky does my nut in as well. But from using both saws I would say the 201 is a more sturdy model than the Husky, I found the husky very toquey but felt like a toy in my hand. I'm annoyed about all these computer chips because a older saw you cans strip down sort out and put back together yourself, but not anymore :-(. But yeah I'd say the sthil is the better of the 2 IMO.
  13. Wrong thread I think :-/
  14. It sounds like it would be solid but definitely not worth the risk then finding out you are wrong. Price for a MEWP, if it's not excepted then so be it. Your more important than the money you make :-)
  15. Haha I liked that one
  16. Wouldn't like explaining that to the gaffer
  17. Shame, but not a terrible age to kick the bucket. He had a real talent in the timing of his lines. Sad loss for comedy.
  18. Nice little Video mate. Good mix of rigging technics.
  19. Yeah I'll see what they want as an end game but light reductions seem to work alright in some situations.
  20. Yeah I'm going to look at it this weekend and will always try and talk people in to what's best for the tree. Turns out it was shingles, hell of a misdiagnosis. But at least they have spotted it. I'll aim for the light reduction and a thin if possible.
  21. Yeah I found that quite amusing as well haha
  22. Thanks for all the input on this one. Turns out the doctors Misdiagnosed the guys symptoms and turns out it's another medical condition. So it's going to be a reduction now. But I will look into to the these alternative methods a little further as it's something I had no idea about. Thanks again people.
  23. Good input Mick haha
