  1. It was what was lurking in it that I was most afraid of matey!
  2. Had the Logbullet on some steeper terrain today. It did very well! Been a bit cautious as had a string of breakdowns of late. But she performed admirably today.
  3. That is a beast! I’ve always had a soft spot for Jensen chippers.
  4. Had mine since April, and only got it's first proper use last week. Bar oil adjuster shat itself. I know of a few who have had other issues including total rebuilds when less than 6 months old (under warranty) and I know others who have had no problems. I'd take a 372 over one at the moment if I had the chance! ?
  5. This all sounds promising gents!
  6. Just started watching Ozark on Netflix last night, first episode is gripping! Also just finished recently watching The Sinner, really good. The Boys, also very good and new series starts very soon. Me and the Mrs enjoyed a series called You on Netflix, but might now be everyone's cuppa tea. Banshee was also very enjoyable but tailed off a bit towards end. And for some light relief, I've just started watching Brooklyn 99.
  7. I ended up felling some decent sized Ash with my Spud fettled 390 the other day as my nearly brand new 572 had issues. Got a 24 inch bar on it currently, and used it all day without incident. The incident happened when the 390 had drank all my Aspen so I had to use my felling buddy's Stihl 462 and ****************ed my cut up. I now owe him a new front handle and chain brake handle! ?
  8. I have a large bonce also. Got myself a Protos helmet and it seems to fit well. It's getting its first run out in the woods tomorrow actually.
  9. Here is a snap from the day we were there. Not in leaf but you get the idea.
  10. I was lucky enough to work there lots of times with @Gray git and it was us who did the work on the Catherine Parr oak. She was a big old girl before we fired the saws up! She has taken really well to the work too. Me and the family have a season pass for there, amazing place to potter about.
  11. He is pretty good to be fair. These stub axles had been identified as a weak point, so he had preempted them failing and sent me two new uprated ones. Even if I have to wait for parts to arrive it usually takes about a week to ten days so not bad really. I've so far had to have rear cross member repaired, snapped the t-piece that holds the two sperate parts of the machinetogether and now sheared the stub axle. Believe it or not I actually have a fair deal of mechanical sympathy! I think I'm just on a run of bad luck, and as mentioned overloading the machine previously is now coming back to haunt me.
  12. Aye it's a bit of a mess. But repairs and recovery are under way!
  13. Stub axle sheared. Prolonged over loading of the machine is really biting me in the arse at the moment, this is the third major breakdown in the last two months. Sharp lesson learned I can confirm!
  14. Today can f*ck right off!
  15. I had a quick peek at it today, @Gray git has done a marvelous job.
  16. John has failed to mention that any Stihl enthusiasts will be instantly discredited. Only Husqvarna will do! ? Jokes aside, I have worked for John since 2016 until I set up on my own last year. I worked on a subbie basis and on the books. One of the best, most knowledgeable guys you can wish for, who I owe a lot too. He is not afraid to invest in gear to make everyone's life better, safer and easier. If you were keen to join the ranks at Dryad you'd be working with two other top lads as well. To summarise, great place to work, great team, great opportunity for someone.
  17. Oh bugger. Sure it'll straighten up with some heat applied and a good bit of mechanical assistance! That's how I got mine back to kinda straight.
  18. I was going to ask how the bolster pins were holding up but looks like one has taken a beating mate.
  19. Out of pure morbid fascination, and I’m not trying to start a typical Arbtalk slanging match here, but does adding all this counterweight not push the boundaries of what can be towed legally? (Presuming all these are getting towed by Landy, Landcruiser, Shogun etc.) if getting moved about by tractor etc I guess It won’t matter but could see the super tight margins for keeping below 3.5 ton towing weight being eroded away.
  20. I’m afraid to say I’ve not actually worn mine yet ? it’s too nice to put to work in horrible Sitka thinnings! Im actually waiting for my new Sena 50S to arrive so I can install it. Once it’s here and all is fitted I’ll let iron man out to play!
  21. Was more expensive. About £200 all in.
  22. Late to the party, but I can 100% vouch for the stock board option. Virtually indestructible, won't rot or splinter, easy to move once you've cut some handle into them, light enough to lug about, lay flat on your trailer floor and not particularly expensive. What's not to love?
  23. You could always switch to Aspen...... ? (I use it and nowt else, never had a single issue, but I appreciate it isn't for everyone)
  24. Slight thread resurrection here.... But I had to share some snaps of my shiny new Protos helmet! Cue piss taking but I don't care!
  25. I just got myself a set of Grabber AT3s for my Shogun, and they've coped fine with muddy fields of late.
