  1. On the rocker cover you should have a decal with the engine model and serial number. Give this to a Kubota engine dealer and see if they can supply. Generally, if the rad has blocked and the engine has overheated properly you will of cracked the head. We have done loads over the years. Usual symptoms are compression gasses in the coolant, very hard to start cold and white smoke on crank. Whizz the head off, you can usually see the cracks across the combustion chamber. You can re use the head bolts. Always good practice to get some cardboard and lay your components out in the cardboard exactly how they came off. You could refit a 1305 or 1505 if required. But most used engines are knackered. Compression wise, serviceable limit from Kubota is 327 PSI. Ideally you want more towards 400 PSI.
  2. Very rarely a Kubota engine will blow the head gasket.9 of 10 times they'll crack the head.
  3. More progress. Cross leg booms in. Wear pads and rams to go in shortly. Hopper fitted. Wiring looms going in.
  4. With gang mowers you'll need to be cutting every week or two. As a rough rule of thumb you'll be able to reduce by about 50% per cut. If the grass is over say 8-12 high inches you have no chance. The only cylinder mower which will cut slightly higher grass is hydraulic powered fitted with the 4 bladed cylinders which Ransomes offer.
  5. Engine back in, hydraulics going on.
  6. Few items being bolted back on. New bottom feed roller, bearing housing and bearing fitted. Anvils in good condition so just cleaned, rotated and refitted.
  7. When it shuts off, is it an instant shut down? Like you have turned the key off? Or does it die slowly?
  8. A couple of months ago we were asked to rebuild a customers 19-28 SafeTrak MK2 and incorporate a colour change. Here is the progress so far. This is the first of two machines. In the workshop about to be stripped Engine coming out Cleaned off. Stripped Stripped Latest equal pressure stop bar, same as the EVO range Ready for re assembly
  9. Just call Forst. They should know if its had a genuine chassis change.
  10. We are now an FSI dealer
  11. We can do blade sharpening.
  12. Price increase on it's way 🤣
  13. You are welcome to send them into us. Check our website for address. www.gagroundcare.com
  14. Read a comment the other day that said "either the pick-up is the tool or the owner is the tool"
  15. We have a year old CS100 coming into stock shortly. 2 years warranty remaining.
  16. Go to a trailer supplier. ATE are helpful.
  17. A set of digital bathroom scales will sort out any weight issues. However, a few grams isn't going to make much difference. When you consider that when timber is going through the flywheel that's turning anti clockwise, 6 o'clock to 12 o'clock is loaded with chip, then 12 o'clock back around to 6 o'clock is largely empty.
  18. Only if you've got soup again.
  19. Retail of the CS100 18hp is £5470 + VAT. Will be some discount on that though and most dealers sell a shade under 5k ex vat.
  20. Jim Upson / Upson Mowers are a good outfit 😎
  21. Not PTO. But we have just part exchanged a 2011 Jensen A340 9" road tow, 68hp Kubota diesel. Easy enough to drag around with a tractor and not running hours up on it either or tying the tractor to the job,
  22. We carry all the flywheel bearings in stock should you wish to order.
  23. 1) Have you got photos of the cutter discs? You can usually tell the difference between blade-anvil contact and debris damage. 2) I wouldn't overly worry about the small amount of damage on the orange fan blades. 3) Your flywheel alignment adjustment on the front bearing is up, down, left and right. The gap down each side of the bearing may not be identical. When setting up a flywheel you are looking for a good rotation with no tight spots, no creaking from the rear self aligning bearing and a 2mm blade gap. Getting these three key points correct may give an uneven gap down the side of the bearing. 4) Slacken your drive belts and get a bar under the flywheel, check for play up and down plus end to end. If there is play then either the bearings are worn or the front bearing has been turning on the main shaft. If the latter then you will need a reconditioned exchange flywheel and the updated NTN front bearing setup.
  24. Just bought and fitted the Stovax Stockton 5 wide for home. Really pleased with it.
