  1. The biggest Honda make is the GX690 at 23hp. It’s why it’s fitted in the Arborist 130.
  2. Weight. The Evo 165p and Forst ST6P weigh bang on 750kg. Even a spare wheel can put them over!
  3. There is very little option in petrol air cooled engines over 25hp.
  4. Sorry, are you saying your machine is still having issues? Is the place you've taken it to setup with Briggs EFI and has the diagnostic kit to plug in?
  5. That is often the issue, even if you didn't need to replace the cylinders a full regrind, new bottom blades (which still need grinding) and service will set you back £1,000- £1,500 easy. The problem is, next winter you'll have the same bill again! If you have a tractor with PTO and you're not after a nice "sports" style finish get yourself a 5ft topper from the likes of Fleming or Wessex. If no PTO then get an ATV spec topper with donkey engine. It'll be a similar cost to seeing those gangs overhauled. The bonus is each winter your service costs will be barely a few hundred quid and something you can probably do yourself.
  6. We have rebuilt lots of those gangs over the years. Unfortunately whilst they can be picked up for very cheap (most cricket clubs have a set parked up in the stingers) the cost of overhauling them is expensive. They are very labour intensive. The cylinders & bottom blades need to be sharp and set on cut properly otherwise they just won't cut any sense. The issue with ground driven gangs is that the "power" of cutting is only as good as the traction of the wheels, hence why they use Ag style tyres for better grip. Gangs are particularly bad for blocking up in the wet. The grass will need to be kept at less than 4" and as a rule of thumb need to be reduced by less than half. That said, in good weather, a well setup set of gang mowers will out perform a ride on hydraulic triple. For the gearboxes, just mix up some grease and gear oil. I expect the gearboxes will leak so don't mix it up too runny. Edit - Just looked at those cylinders. They are almost down to the welds of the spirals so need replacing. A set of three cylinders will set you back around 1k for the parts alone which will also still need grinding. A long term cylinder mower mechanic could do three units in a day if pushing on.

  17. A phone that rings with people who are wanting to book your services could have a value to someone. But, are they booking you as a person? Would they still want to use the company if you are not there? Ideally you want customers booking "Old Oak Tree Care" as a business opposed to "John Smith". That way, it is easier to remove yourself and sell the company as a going concern. It is worth remembering that if you pack up, your surrounding competitors will pick up the work anyway.
  18. Agreed, unless the inline pump just wasn't delivering fuel to the main, high pressure pump.
  19. Was the fuel filter the correct Briggs one for EFI? It is a fine gauze filter designed to protect the main fuel pump, you don't want to be using a universal in line fuel filter. Surprised it was the inline fuel pump, as Jase says this is the low pressure pump. Designed to bring the fuel from the tank to the engine & the high pressure fuel pump where the EFI circuit starts. Fingers crossed she keeps on running

2019 GreenMech QuadChip 160 wood chipper, 160mm x 230mm infeed throat, twin hydraulic feed rollers with stress control system, 750kg, Kubota 34hp turbo diesel engine, 330 hours, new rear lighting channel, service carried out, sale by main GreenMech dealership. £11,750 + VAT. Finance and delivery available. Machine is located in Wiltshire. 01380 828863 [email protected]

    £11,750

  22. You'll need a remote control box and electric solenoid valves to match. Not so bad if the chipper already has electric solenoid coils. However a big job and probably not feasible to do if the forward / reverse/ stop is a mechanical hydraulic operation.
  23. We would recommend booking it in with somewhere that has the Vanguard diagnostic equipment. Has the ECU ever been updated? This should be done as part of the service. Is the inline fuel filter the correct fine B&S one? Not a universal inline? They should also be able to test / check the high pressure fuel pump.
  24. TP 270 crane fed, less than 50 hours from new. 2021, 1350kg 1,000pto. £20,000 + VAT.
  25. They’ve made an official announcement now.
