  1. We had a "tuned" 200 TDI Defender 90 pick up for moving chippers about, it was fine for local road tow deliveries but the moment you start towing heavier stuff up long hills it was painful. Almost to the point you'd be better off taking the tracked chipper off and start towing the Landy 😆 Sold the 200 TDI a couple of years ago and bought a 2.4 TDCI 90. which will accelerate in 6th up long dual carriageway hills with a GreenMech SafeTrak on the back. Areas I know the 200TDI would be down in 2nd! Ok we have tuned our 2.4 TDCI now but even when standard it would have loads more go than the TD5 110 we just sold. 300 TDI's are great engines but rather gutless heavy towing even with a bunch of swanky bits fitted.
  2. We have our own powder coating facilities. It is more expensive than spraying but will give you a hard wearing finish. Aerosol spraying doesn't really last all to long.
  3. For a hard wearing & long lasting finish, you can't beat whipping the panels off and having them re powder coated. That's what we do on the GreenMechs we refurbish.
  4. Often driven by legislation changes rather than manufactures themselves.
  5. We are a GM main dealer and always have a can or two of brush on and aerosol, we buy that from eBay! It's alright for touch ups, we use a metal hammerite primer under it first. RAL6018 is the code.
  6. In theory it is a great idea. There is a QuadChip somewhere with exactly this setup. For those jobs where you leave the wood chip on the ground you don't need to be towing and if you're blowing into a tipper trailer you can load a good 2.5T of chip! Mounting the chipper low enough is the biggest hurdle.
  7. Down in Wiltshire? If so we know the seller.
  8. We have a 2015 CS100 18hp for sale.
  9. Don't take less than 10k for it as is. If you took it to an independent LR garage, asked to them to prep and go through it with say a 2k budget you'd probably be looking at a value of 15k.
  10. We just sold a 2003 TD5 110 tipper which we bought from a customer as a non runner. It had 209k miles, we did new shocks, rear springs, front brakes, painted rear chassis, new tyres, Wolf rims, service, MOT and sorted the engine running issue. Had it advertised for £11,750 plus vat and took an order the same weekend for asking price. Customer is a local tree surgeon and collected earlier this week.
  11. Arborist 130? We have a 2017 Arborist 150 diesel mk2 for sale in the later green / grey colours. New brakes, flywheel bearings, mudguards, wheel, blades etc. Ready to go. £9,995 ex vat. UK delivery and warranty available. Just advertised it today on the various Facebook pages. Happy to email / send full information and pictures.
  12. Shouldn't be! Which TW and GreenMech are you pricing?
  13. Sorry to hear that ☹️
  14. Would say as long as the bolt holes aren't elongated then stick some new bolts in and crack on! Just monitor it at every blade sharpen / turn.
  15. Awaits DVSA to crack down on tachograph fitment on all these fresh towing for business folk...
  16. I've just checked Rotatech website, they're £177.60 for a pair of CS100 blades and currently out of stock. We are a GreenMech dealer and the RRP on CS blades is £90 a blade, we have plenty in stock. For a couple of quid why wouldn't you go genuine? I always think if your chipper (any make / model) does shit itself and you've used genuine blades & hardware you've got half a case straight away of the manufacture listening to your story.
  17. 17.5k ex vat. Half price of a new 19-28, not that you can buy one brand new now. We didn't get to the point of advertising. I have a 2014 coming in next month and a 2009 coming in this week. Thanks
  18. Lack of radiator being cleaned out . Overheating, glazed bores and therefor lack of compression. Typical to the environments of rail, usually never comes back to a workshop for thorough cleaning out of the radiator with a high pressure airline. We already had a rebuilt engine that we dropped straight in. The engine removed from this chipper will be rebuilt and kept in our parts department until the next poorly engined SafeTrak comes along...
  19. Kubota V2203. Standard fitment in the MK2 19-28.
  20. Here’s a few photos of the latest SafeTrak 19-28 we have just reconditioned. Think this will be our 5th SafeTrak we have done in the last 12 months.. The work carried out was massive on this unit. Reconditioned engine, re powder coated panels inc infeed chute, replacement anvils, new hydraulic valve block, wiring looms, RDS control box, track base stripped and rebuilt, new belly plates, new operators foot platform, new safety stop bar, new control buttons, new blades, new bonnet, serviced etc etc. We are really pleased how this one has turned out. Being delivered to its new owner Monday..
  21. That's a very good point you make. One that appears to be very over looked on this subject.
  22. Cant argue with that, great service by TW.
  23. We are solely a GreenMech dealer and more than happy to help in the supply of any parts you need. Our landline is 01380 828863, speak to Pete or Ashley.
  24. We have a 2013 TW230DHB coming in part exchange today. The owner has said the chassis / required work has been done under the campaign. Happy to take photos of the area for you?
  25. If your turnover is 200k and profit 90k, how do you run 4 employed staff, all that listed kit, fuel, deprecation, insurance, accounting costs etc for 110k per annum? Any potential buyer will and should want to go through the numbers in the finest of detail. A proper balance sheet would be worthwhile to put with the sale advert
