Think everyone's wants are different. I had a customer replace a big Vermeer with an Arb130. Fed up of something big and logged the decent size stuff.

There is a category for mowing machines. You can register for daytime only so no need for lights. What mower is it? Do they do it road legal from new? If so you may be able to get a certificate of newness from the manufacture which will help getting it registered at DVLA

Most 1505's are around 33hp but I've seen them in commercial mowers upto 37/38hp. Some 'Inlines' are 4 cylinder. Our new Jensen A530 750kg is a 1105 turbo 3 pot. I've found the turbo lumps get back on the boil quicker than a normally aspirated unit which in turn gets the no stress recovered quicker and chipping again. But some people prefer a calmer NA 4 cylinder. Horses for courses

Weight isn't often just cut from the chassis either. Most 750kg units if Kubota will run a V1105 over a V1505. Same HP but a lighter 3 cylinder turbo opposed to a NA 4 pot as found in say a ST6 Forst. I worked for a GM main dealer and they are big in the 750kg market, never personally experienced a failed chassis or severe structural malfunction.

See In my opinion that's like buying a 7 seater car with a wife and two kids just because you can and it was within budget. But yes a letter box infeed will cut down on time snedding out no end. If you compare the TW150 to a 1623 GM you'll get a lot more awkward material through the GM. Cheaper too. I used to sell GM and loved demoing against a TW because of the letterbox infeed.

If your looking at older chippers the residual on an older GreenMech will be lower than a TimberWolf. Perception of the brand back then. Don't just buy something big cause you can, if you only need a 6' chipper max towing a bigger beast around and trying to manoeuvre off the truck will annoy you.

We are just outside Devizes but also carry out onsite repairs etc. Our A530 demo unit arrives next week. If you don't know when it was last changed I would recommend doing it. Water ingress is the usual problem for hydraulic oil (often condensation through metal tanks)

Normally if it runs better when warm it's hydraulic flow issue. We've had this with pattern filters not flowing enough, wrong oil fitted etc. What grade oil have you got in the hydraulic system and when was it last serviced? We are in Wilts and are now a Jensen dealer inline with the recent changes. If you get stuck can happily take a look for you.

No all of these in situ. Although can do either. With strip I meant, roller bearing replacements on some, some required cylinder bearings, bottom blocks off, new blades, light skim for trueness and re assemble.

That's the second batch we've had in and done 29 total for the same customer. It is repetitive but it's chargeable labour We will strip them in sets so for example the larger set (Jacobsen fairway) is a set of 5 so we will strip them, get into the grinders, then rebuild one at a time as they finish in the grinder. Between me and the old man we have a pretty good system going.

Just finished servicing and regrinding 16 cutting units for a golf club customer. Around 3 hours per unit.

We had the head back from being repaired yesterday for the Stiga in our workshop. Had to go and buy a smaller torque wrench as the studs needed 5nm!

You could look at towing a chipper as 'reward' as your being paid...
