  1. Probably only time before AdBlue delete kits are a thing in the UK.
  2. We had a breakdown in our Defender a month or so ago. I was towing a Kubota tractor at the time. Got it into a layby luckily. Got our service van out who picked up a new fuel filter on the way around and some fresh fuel. Couldn't get it running. Van took the trailer home and got the AA to drop the Defender back to our work. Ended up with the tank off, as the pipework between the tank and fuel filter was full of black slime. Washed the tank out which again had loads of slime in it. Nice clean tank, filtered the fuel back in, new fuel filter and fuel filter head. Jobs a good un, back on the road. 500 miles later I noticed it didn't have quite the boost it did have, smoked a bit and felt a very slight misfire. One injector was failing and also leaking oil. Just picked it up from the garage. Injectors seals, fire washers and a new injector. £500 later... Wonder whether it would of had the last issue if it didn't have the first issue....
  3. Our transit custom has adblue. We buy it in 20l from a local ag dealer. I haven't measured usage but it seems to last for ages. Pigs piss is pigs piss right.....
  4. CS80 & CS100 side by side. In stock now & ready to go at GA Groundcare Ltd.
  5. Ha, sorry. Was referring to the trailers stacked up behind the disco.
  6. Saw this on a Facebook page over the weekend. You've got to admire the "I reckon that'll all fit" attitude of the driver.
  7. Unless there is a proper kit available, I think the problem you'll face if you mounted a belt driven pump onto your engine is unless you can disengage said pump you'll potentially overspeed it driving down the road. If you can get a pump with an electric clutch built in, you could then have it disengaged for road driving. If you know the speed the pump needs to run at, with a tacho, some tip-ex, thought and a pen and paper you could work out what RPM the engine needs to be running at. Probably easier to run a donkey Honda engine with a hydraulic pump fitted though!
  8. I have two 150mm hydraulic chippers just come back in off a lease. One is 2 years old and has 201 hours, the other is 2.5 years old and 340 hours. I don't know anyone who uses a CS100 or a similar gravity chipper 5 days a week for a month? If they have that much small chipper work then fair play!
  9. Indeed, physical blade contact with wood for 20 hours is quite a long period of time. When your blade edge and angle is also your "feed roller" its important to keep them tip top. A flat knife on a hydraulic feed roller machine will still turn cord wood into some sort of chip if they're blunt as a spoon. On a hydraulic feed roller chipper a full time domestic tree surgeon will usually rack up between 150 and 200 hours a year. Its surprising the lack of hours a chipper does. We hire them out and they'll often come back with 1 additional hour on. Rail contractors maybe will do 400, we have a 2019 SafeTrak in for repair / service at the moment and that has 351 hours. I would class that as pretty high hours for a machine less than a year old.
  10. Have you spoken to an electrical company who are into circuit boards and such like. Sometimes it is possible to have the control box sent away for specialist repair. Failing that, as Pete says the PTO GreenMech no stress system is fairly basic and could probably be retro fitted to something else. The parts will probably see you in over 1k though.
  11. I have messaged him this morning. He's on holiday this week but happy for you to contact him next week. Will message you his details.
  12. I’ll message the guy tomorrow, double check he’s happy for me to give his number over etc.
  13. I do appreciate you are after petrol feedback but I could give you a number of a tree surgeon who went from a 150p to a Evo 165 diesel.
  14. Here is a list of the Jensen dealers. Doesn't look like anyone your direction. https://www.jensenchippers.co.uk/dealers/#dealerslist Imported by TH White now. Maybe better off using someone like Burden Bros Agri (GreenMech) or Green Plant (TimberWolf) ? ArbRep are still going in some format as I spoke to a lady called Jodi Blackman yesterday. Charles & Joanne have relocated back to SA. Whether Jodi is just tying up some loose ends on their behalf I don't know.
  15. Where are you? We are in Devizes, Wiltshire.
  16. Not usually a problem if you fill the filter up to the brim with fresh diesel. (don't pour the diesel out the old filter to the new one either ?)
  17. We have a 2017 Transit Custom. Done 50k now and its been great. We had one issue where water was running down the inside of the drivers door, along the wiring loom and rotted it out. First we knew was the drivers window stopped working. Covered by warranty though. We bought it from Pearce Bros near Bristol. They are a contract hire company and always selling nearly new vans on. Have a look on their website.
  18. “Chimney” Might start having to call it that!
  19. You definitely need the latter when towing with a non ABS Defender during winter.
  20. Opinions on fitting a full anti roll bar kit? Our Defender doesn't have any currently.
  21. Think that why I like them, basic but a good reliable trailer. Yes some of the Brian James and other brands are a bit more fancy but I like the fact that running an Ifor there is many trailer centres around the country that if you had an issue when far from base you could swing in and pick up parts to get yourself going. Always been taught from a young age (certainly not when I did my trailer license) to get your speed down prior to a descent. Always have room to comfortably / safely accelerate if required. I was overtaken down hill on a dual carriageway this week by a builder in a Ford Ranger with a 16ft flat bed loaded right up with timber. They must of been going 75mph + as I was doing 55-60mph. Modern pick ups can give a false sense of trailer safety.
  22. Probably towed in excess of 100,000 miles towing all with IWT trailers and never really had any issues fish tailing. Lorry ruts on the other hand....
