  1. That must have been a task and a half. I reckon this tree is also at least 3m at ground level so maybe similar age. There was a huge manor house on the site which burned down early last century so I'm told. The remaining gardens are still very impressive, lots of veteran trees. 2. No guesses? It's a Liriodendron (tulip tree). Anyone seen a larger one in the UK? This must be amongst the oldest and largest. Amazing Tree, pics don't do justice Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Guess what tree..... Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Thanks Dean. I'll put it on arbtrader in the next week or 2 Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. I've got a jo beau m400 I'm thinking of selling as it doesn't see enough use these days. Not sure what to ask for it though, maybe you wee chipper fans can give me an idea? It's 2 years old and probably done less than 100 hrs. Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. Sweet. I need to raid the piggy bank Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. How reliable is the shear at holding onto what it's cut? For example would you be confident to use it for a smallish silver birch that was overhanging a conservatory? Could turn a half day job into 15 mins Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. Which model is your avant? Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. The knife is quite small but it does the job very well. I would wager it will put up with more abuse than most as it is so simple and strong, no bendable holding arms etc. And a honda engine. It goes through all our arb waste no bother. I can't put a figure on the cycle time but it is pretty quick. Definitely up there with the thor etc Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. I was in the market for exactly what you are after so went to the apf show and tried all the offerings they had at the show. I came away with an oxdale, think it's an se400. Solidly built, simple and quick. The ram doesn't go back to a preset point, it stops wherever you want it to stop which I like. First thing I did was mod it to be operated 1 handed which is so much better if your not a clumsy fool. I would recommend it. Cheaper than a lot of others too at around 1500ish Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Ladder, lanyard, silky. I know you said you don't like ladders but if you're tied in and ladder is secured and footed etc then it's definitely the quickest and easiest way in my opinion. Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. I have a diesel camon 250, worked ok last time I used it but been sitting out in the elements for a few months now. Keep meaning to put it on ebay but never get round to it. Interested? Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. Is the only difference the bulge over the exhaust? Or have they tweaked some other bits too? Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. That's funny cos a small white van had away with my 200t from my landrover near there about 2 years ago. Maybe coincidence, maybe not Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. OK thanks for explaining Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. Thanks, will look into it Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. Do you get any kind of hse recognised certificate as part of his course? I don't doubt the training is top notch but I want to tick the right boxes if you know what I mean. Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. Wanting to put all my workers and myself through basic first aid training but not sure who is offering what course or what is the best one to go for for arb work. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? We are based in faversham, Kent. Thanks Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. I know what you mean. Seems like my 461 has almost the same power as my 661. Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. Mines been used once so going back unless I can sell it on for more than 100 quid! Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. Haven't used one but have a predator 360. The 360 is a great machine but some cheap components let it down like throttle cable and control lever, broke in the first month, five quid identical replacement on ebay. FSI looks a lot better in this regard, solid feeling controls Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. Come try mine out mate, running the same setup at the moment and pretty happy with it Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. Reckon you may be right Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. Was thinking the same....but what is it then? Must be some closet spider experts here somewhere? Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. Apparently no worse than a wasp sting after a quick Google search Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
