  6. I honestly did not think I would manage out of bed to price jobs this morning, I feel like 90 year old. This weekend was pure fun madness, and the madness just started. Need to get on my computer so I can post pictures, I have no idea how to do it from fiances iPad. It's very frustrating when the mind want to go on and the body give me pains. One thing I have decided to do and that's to get very fit, eat better, remember to drink water. There is so much trees and tree stumps and I want to do all of them.
  7. The day the starter motor didn't work on my van even that was joy, I laugh so much tears dripping down. Was a huge challenge to hook up the grinder and pull the van to a spot where I could roll it down hill and start it. A first time experience.. Life is to short to spend it on negative thoughts.
  8. There is something magic with tree work, we are all blessed to be in such a good trade.
  9. As silky fox said its a hobby. And I love every second of it, every thing about it. The tree related industry is in my opinion pure fun. Don't work just play
  10. It took over my life totally I do my best to show my love to my woman.
  11. today was a 15 hour work day... And the strange thing was I felt gutted and a bit sad having to stop for the day. And now I'm going to see a few stump grinding videos to make me sleep. And do more and better and quicker tomorrow. I'm living the dream and I'm blessed.
  12. It is very good out there, for stump grinding to. Busy all hours don't have time for anything else anymore took over my life.
  13. Thanks for the replies The most important is agility, anything bigger then 5 inch would Be used as fire logs. Need something within a month or so.
  14. I seen a timber wolf able to manage slopes. Tracked goes out two meters, any of you folks own one of these? 7,5 inch
  15. thinking of buying a tracked chipper, But before I go out there and buy one I thought I better See what brands you guys would recommend, 8 inch size or even smaller I would use most as fire logs so no need chipping any big I have seen a sharp increase in work load and there is a market For good tracked chippers.
  16. Run a stump grinder in to it, remote controlled one and sit down and have a coffee at the same time
  17. Set up your goals and go for it, positive thoughts, work always, get skilled in pricing, work on a long term plan to make yourself known, avoid big debt, be very confident in Yourself, go out there and dominate
  18. Get him a new chain, and try that before getting him a new bar.
  19. Cut down a trees today and cut it down to fire logs for the customer, and grinded the stumps out, felled it and it was just like it was always no need to think just do it, and it went where I wanted it just like always. I so enjoyed this work so I must go and get all the climbing gear and related. Was told by the customer I was the hardest working trader they have ever had in the property. And got to price more jobs, for 4 other neighbors, will keep me busy for quite a few days. To get that feedback just makes me work even harder and better. I walked up and down 3 times in the grass to make sure there was not one bit of chainsaw debree or stump grinding debree left on the grass. This trade is the best ever, I so enjoy it. I do think the key word is to be very very tidy and leave the job better compared to when you arrived. Never leave a dent in the grassed area ever. To get the coffee / water / bananas / other fruit / and such nice customers. It's the best ever ! Best Regards Stefan
  20. I worked this machines in Sweden, depends who you are how fast you learn. to learn to operate the crane and machine was easy for me, but it's more to it then just that. With common sense you can go very far.
  21. Was a similar looking machine to that we used in School to create things from wood.
  22. Ok.... this might put me in the bad book on arbtalk But, why did you not speak to the customer yourself about this issue, why did you have to phone the tree officer and grass him in ? There is to many folks out there trying to get in the good book and look so bright and shiny. I work with them at my main job, and this industry is in general very clean of grasses and brownie's. sorry but I do not like the #reporting# characters at all, actually get out of my sight all together. Best Regards Stefan
  23. Hello folks Need some advice, I'm buying some tree climbing gear.. I need the harness, ropes and chainsaw/ spikes, lowering equipment. What brands is the most reliable today, I know what was good 11 years ago but the market might have changed. I used the Swedish harness was black and red. And new England ropes. the spikes I can't remember what I had, but the climbing saw was a steel 200 something. Actually need a tracked chipper to but that is for some other date. Is it vise to buy a second hand harness ? Best Regards Stefan
  24. Hello folks See if any of you have came across this before, I grinded out a stump today that been cross cut by a chainsaw. and I suppose they have tried to put in diesel or somethin in there to try and kill off this big stump. No success. And I grinded it out, and it for a while I thought I had a major hydraulic oil leak on the machine, the full grinding wheel was full of some fluid oil substance, and after much wondering I understood it must come from the tree stump. the machine was fine. I don't know if the customer been filling this stump with something. Or if it was from the tree stump itself. The full side of the grinding wheel was soaked with it, felt like the Greece you Greece your machine with. Best Regards Stefan
