  1. Tbf I've not had too many problems with either, what's your problem?
  2. Anyone ever been given earl grey? I nearly spat it in the woman's face! Bloody liberty.
  3. Yes I use that, light hearted but at the same time menacing.....
  4. Hey Sean, i dont suppose its any consolation but everything day I think of you many times, every carabiner check, double checking the rigging, looking twice for the groundies. Keep moving forward. Lots of us out here sending our best.
  5. I don't see why one can't carry on in the tree game till retirement, not climbing obviously, Get the work, have a youngster go up, another one on the ground. Pop out from time to time. Point a bit, talk to the client, collect the cheque. Nothing hard about that.
  6. Hiya Mountain Man- seeing as how the comment was made by you, my first reaction was that you were right anyway as i was about to move n to next comment I suddenly thought "hang on a minute" .......... A false dichotomy is when an argument is presented as an 'either or situation', 'black white' thing when in fact there is another or multiple alternatives to consider. However, in this case you either "care about others" in which case you are not someone who "only cares about themselves" or you "only care about yourself" in which case you are not one that "cares about others" - therefore it is not a false dichotomy......... Although I am willing to concede that the same individual Human Being can at different times fall into either camp.... Look I don't want to get bogged down on it but it is. False Dichotomy (Dilemma) { Philosophy Index }
  7. I can't really opine on either, however a root around the base will usually find some leaves which can help a lot.
  8. I've known a few move to landscaping, digger work and fencing/gates.
  9. As an (un)educated guess I'd go for a Rowan.
  10. Ok, it's part of the human condition. People aren't just good or bad.
  11. And some of the nasty bastards can be ok some times and the good guys can be right so and so's, it's the human condition.
  12. soooo true! the 1%'ers don't  No it's not, its cobblers. It's what's called a false dichotomy.
  13. Looks like a walnut with very fresh green just formed leaves.
  14. "Less and less free" To do what? To live your life without fear of invasion by another other country that fancies a piece of your land? health care when you or yours are ill or want to give birth in a safe environment. Your education and that of your children, the roads you drive on to be driveable and not to have improvised checkpoints with armed men. The whole network and infrastructure of the country you live in is down to governance. Your way of thinking, presumably designed to impress goth birds at university bars, always makes me laugh.
  15. Thing is with all of these things it's always a matter of when you stop. If anyone ever says "they're too pricey or too uncomfortable about anything from boots to helmets or alkalyte fuel up goes the cry "but how much are your feet/hands/lungs worth?" There would be not end to it, we'd all be wearing full body protection sitting in cherry pickers holding long arm pruners. I have felt the kiss of a chainsaw and it's pretty sobering, but I couldn't wear all rounds again. I understand that topping connys can get you in some strange positions, But keeping the saw away from the back of your legs seems simple enough.
  16. Good pictures Max, that second one is.....unusual.
  17. I'm staggered that you are staggered that people are staggered that........oh I give up!
  18. Well I cared how it happened. I don't suppose I was alone in that.
  19. Now I'm not going to criticize or anything (I've spent time in A&E in work gear), but could you run through how that happened
  20. Well they're going to be compromised next week, you can be sure of that.
  21. Yes they do! Let's not start that, read what Jonny said.
