  1. Do it all the time, on heavier sections put a half hitch before choking the karabiner.
  2. Me too, I'm a one trick pony.
  3. I have a few I pollard every couple of years, they seem ok with it. Blue gums I think.
  4. I found it, but don't know what to copy and paste, it's called "does anyone know what tree this is?"
  5. Can we have a link to the original "hornbeam" thread.
  6. I was doing a smallish fell/removal recently and the client asked if I wouldn't mind chipping up a jumbled up mess of hazel and stuff in the corner. I said no that I never chip stuff I didn't cut down myself. They looked quite miffed and said that the "landscaper" who cut it down said as I was coming in a couple of weeks it would be silly to take it away as I would gladly chip it up.
  7. Yeah yeah yeah, :marchmellow:
  8. Ahh, I thought by the way you were throwing them way they were pretty much disposable. Good tip
  9. Who knows what's in it? Don't do it.
  10. The thing is all this talk about climbing at 65 and age just being a state of mind etc is just that, talk. The fact is as you age you suffer from age related conditions, arthritis, rheumatism, loss of strength, stamina, cardio vascular ability, the list goes on. Denying that because some "truism" you read on a lolly stick that you like to quote because it sounds profound is silly.
  11. Quite a lot of these posts are jokey/light hearted Kevin.
  12. I'm 51 and do all the climbing so I'm better qualified than you to pass judgement. That "you don't stop doing things......" Cliche is utter BS Sure you CAN climb at 65 but would you really want to? I stopped playing football at 36. Do you think if I carried on I'd still get a place in my village team?
  13. So many possibilties.... Solenoids, there are four in the little black box, wiggle em, contact sometimes deteriorates after hundreds of hours of vibration. Could be a myriad of things though. Edit relays/solenoids. Three pin electrical jobbys anyway.
  14. The other day I got homemade cherry rockcakes, I got the recipe and took it home to the wife. Who knocked a batch up at the weekend. Lovely!
  15. I avoid working in the rain where possible. Cos it's miserable.
  16. Looks like a lot of weight behind the rear axel.
  17. Yeah that would grind my gears as well. They should at least offer you a loaner.
  18. Only just caught the one from three days ago, very good as usual, what's are those little colored wedges you use up the tree to prevent pinching? They look handy.
  19. Had a dry house today, I had to tap on the window and make a "T" sign with my hands to get them off the sofa. Some people are so ill mannered! Honestly.
  20. Always time for a cuppa Hodge.
