  1. Check your insurance to see if you are covered for debugging!I did a job for the wood ten mins into job tractor was six foot under .luckily there was a clay layer at six feet. Took two days with digger to free me.cost a grand.all because pick up which got stuck on a stump!!!! Got two tonnes of wood out and never went back.pity as there was good birch to be had.jake

  6. set the winch at right angls to the detached part and shear the top from the standing part. if too strongly attached to shear then you may need to put in a felling cut on stem and pull over sideways(risky but leave a massive hinge)
  7. probably ,but check out Eve track way on line and see how near youe local depot is ,mine was near lanark so just a few miles away.
  8. peter i think they call that a widow maker.fell and run if you are young and fit.im fat and slow so i prefer the long distance pull and save the energy...
  9. throw a line over the hung up part .pull up winch wire and pull from a safe distance, providing you can get a tractor and winch nearby.jkae:thumbup:
  10. eve claimed that the plastic sheets were good for a fully laden artic,i dropped some big chunks on them with no damage ,the ally ones wouldnt take the impact from a big ring dropped from 15 feet
  11. the sheets are 8x4 feet so willl cover 72 metres in a straight line .i had less distance to go but needed turning areas.eve trackway also do rolls of aluminium road which can be delivered and placed with a lorry and hi ab ,not sure of cost ,as i had to collect mine in transit an lay due to a weak bridge on drive..jake
  12. i hired some from eve trackway cost about £500 a week to have 60 of their plastic sheets which you bolt together.meant i could drive all over a lawn with forklift and the customer was delighted as it smoothed out a lot of bumps. jake:thumbup:
  13. i have just delivered 17 loads in 3 days......hope it stays warm. going to have to refill log shed tomorrow, get to play with my new 360 yipeeee jake:thumbup:
  14. i use a farmi 5 ton winch on my john deere.and it works great. things to think about are.... make sure you winch fits type one linkage as the front linkage is not adjustable for width between link arms. make sure your front pto turns the same way as rear or you will lose your brake if a ratchet type front pto runs at 1000 rpm so cut revs down on tractor to run winch at 500 or so,or else wire will come in far to fast to be safe.this may reduce power available to winch but mine pulls 5 ton no probs, can stall the tractor if given some real welly on winch!!! the big advantage on front linkage is that the lift arms have a power down facility so a really good ground anchor can be achieved. makes a great logging blade and excellent for shoving in bonfires erm good luck jake
  15. :thumbup:hGive David Paton a call in moffat.he has a shed full of old huskies.never been stuck yet.just got an oil pump for a 181 off him for £20. Jake
  16. i have a windblow site near lanark which could provide what you need ,just need to cut and extract it.can get artic in to collect just.if you want to come and cut it or help maybe work?how soon do you want it?
  17. Think about it no more grumpy climbers making loads of mess for us to tidy up.job could be done in a few minutes .and no faffing about packing up kit .ideal. Mind you Never let a climber drive it,they will smash every window for miles around and then want their job back....mmmm jake
  18. I think with a careful operator one could land all the debris in next doors garden !no need for stake or blower.I want one on a rubber duck to cut down on transport costs!!jake
  19. that will put a few climbers out of work.....mmmm not so good for back gardens ,access could be an issue.but what a tool for leylandii hedges though ,jake:thumbup:
  20. Just take the plug to your nearest agro engineers and they will sell you a greasenipple to ffit.I have a selection box of nipples and just match the thread size.Jake
  21. Try Webster power tool in wishaw .have timberwoolf tracked and road tow
  22. i unscrew the plug and fit a grease nipple instead then just a pump from the grease gun does it just nice.jake
