  1. it was Africans that sold other Africans to the slave traders. There's still slavery in Africa today.... that's nothing to do with us... You see all those charities wanting money for wells because Africans don't have the ability to dig wells for themselves, then you say Africa could have been a superpower if we had left them alone? Africa is, and always will be a basket case.
  2. it always gets me that the liberals tell us all cultures/ races are equal, then we have to accept people from other countries because they are getting persecuted. is it not racist to accept asylum seekers? it's implying our culture is better than theirs.
  3. If it wasn't Iraq it would be some other reason that all those lovely new immigrants would want to kill us. Muslims have no problem finding reasons to kill other Muslims...
  4. that's a fair argument, but when did the iron wall fall? a generation ago? How long will the "USSR" argument be valid? Japan was nuked in 1945, they grew their economy to rival Europe's in about 50 years... It just seems strange that all those hard working East Europeans still want to benefit their lives by picking strawberries in the UK. was Africa/india etc ever in the USSR?
  5. Surely immigration has an impact on things likes schools and the nhs though? Immigration has also increased the amount of terrorist activity in the UK.
  6. If all those immigrants are such hard working people etc how come so many of their home countries are so poor? Its funny how people can bang on about immigrants being better workers than the Brits etc while if someone says the brits are better they are called a racist.
  7. perhaps you could post some evidence that says immigrants are good for the public purse? the bulk of the evidence that I've seen says that immigrants take out more than they put in.... most EU workers migrants I come across are doing jobs at minimum wage.. do you really think they pay more in tax than they take out?
  8. is this wall 9 foot high or wide? tbh, if the reinforcement isn't connected into the foundation it's likely someone could still push/pull the wall over with a pickup... perhaps you should get a couple of steel "H" beams and set them vertically in concrete. Then build a wall in the flanges of the "H" beams. What is the wall for?
  9. we need a like button in this forum.
  10. it's against the law to release any that you have trapped. a lot of animal charities treat injured squirrel and break the law by realising them back into the wild. I trapped 4 in the last few weeks in my parent's garden a good tip for you all is not to tell girls that you shoot squirrels on a first date, for some reason they find it a turn off?
  11. As others have said, it would be good if we could keep the immigrants that don't contribute out..... a revolutionary idea I know... We let people into the country that hate Britain and British values. It's about time we forgot about their "Human Rights" and deported them. Some of the "fellow humans" that you are defending would quite happily put a bomb on a bus that you or your family were travelling in....
  12. ahhhh, so the thousands of east Europeans in the UK selling the "Big Issue" are a "net gain to the economy"? I'll have to thank the local Romanian Big Issue seller for her generosity in coming to the UK to help our economy. Perhaps you should take your rose tinted glasses off?
  13. I 100% agree. But do you not think a substantial number of immigrants "negatively impact" on British life? Why should I be expected to pay tax so that people that have nothing to do with Britain can roll up and get free healthcare/benefits/housing/schooling? Why should I have to wait months for a hospital appointment when immigrants get £25k a years worth of HIV treatment? Why should I have to watch the news and see repeated stories about immigrants that want to kill British people?
  14. How many Brits have went to fight for ISIS in Syria? About 700 now? You really think a "toe punt to the balls" will stop them? We've already had one beheading in London, it's more than likely it will happen again..... I personally find it terrifying that so many Brits identify with a regime that burns people alive and sells girls into slavery... Living standards used to be crap in Britain as well. Is it not up to the populations of other countries to try and improve their living conditions? Why should British people have their benefits cut so that foreigners can come to this country and get free housing/ benefits etc? Do you not think the standard of living would improve in a lot of countries if they stopped slaughtering each other? Or is it somehow britains fault that there is always a civil war in Africa?
  15. sorry, but why does it make other countries miserable when I go out and buy a pair of jeans and a washing machine? Are Islamic State beheading people because people in the West fancy a new car every couple of years? perhaps if we never imported nurses/ doctors/ engineers from the third world these places would be a bit happier.... I saw a programme on the telly that said 85% of Jamaican graduates emigrated....
  16. Farage is the only politician that understands the concerns of the man on the street. to be frank, it's unbelievable that British people struggle to get some medical treatments while we give foreigners HIV treatment. The main thing British politicians should do is look after the interests of British people... most of them seem hell bent on giving free housing/benefits/healthcare to people that have nothing to do with this country.
  17. I've planted leylandii because I think they look nice as well. However it seems a lot of hassle to hire a jcb and transplant them... It has to be cheaper to cut your existing ones down and buy 12 inch ones from the garden centre...
  18. sounds an interesting scheme. does this mean you are breaking down flood defences to allow the land to flood during heavy rain etc? i don't know where the water table will be, but how about "mounding"? that's when you get an excavator to dig divots out of the ground and place them soil side up. the trees will be a bit higher up and wont have weed competition.
  19. does your local councillor have a drop in surgery? you could go along and show him some pictures of the trees. tbh, if the trees are dangerous and over a footpath i think you have a moral duty to tell the council... at the meeting you could ask how to tender for future work.
  20. By any chance do you smoke pot and wear sandals?
  21. Just to confirm, was your post aimed at me?
  22. perhaps it would be better if people explained why they disagreed with Nigel/ UKIP? From what I see of the EU it is an undemocratic organisation that sucks money from Britain and gives us lots of red tape. We don't seem to get a lot of benefit from it? Regarding immigration, well we've all seen the terrorist attacks and the hundreds of Brits going to Syria to fight. We've also been to the GP's surgery and seen the amount of immigrants waiting for treatment.... perhaps the NHS would be less of a mess if we never had to treat so many foreigners... Well done Nigel for questioning what we get from the EU/ immigration.
  23. I honestly think Nigel/ UKIP are the best thing for UK politics for the last 50 years. He's opened up the debate on the benefits of the EU and mass immigration....
  24. Both? I've always thought that if I planted the right tree in the right spot that fertiliser wouldn't matter. But I can see the advantages if fertiliser gets a tree above the weeds and gives it greater girth (protection against browsing).
  25. I was wondering if anyone used fertiliser on trees they have planted? If you have have you noticed a difference in growth rates?
