  1. Using cattle to control bracken is suggested by quite a few organisations like the RSPB and Defra: "Winter-feeding can be used to attract livestock on to the site so that, 1) bracken buds and developing fronds which are close to the surface or just emerged are damaged by stock treading (cattle are more effective than sheep) and 2) the litter is disturbed and broken up (this also encourages frost penetration to the rhizomes." What do you think spraying Asulox onto bracken does for "chemical residues" in meat produced in nearby farms?
  2. My understanding is that the cows get hungry and roam the field looking for grass. Their hooves trample the bracken - they don't eat it. Do cows get cancer? I'd imagine most beef cows would be slaughtered after a few years (too young to get cancer?)
  3. I do think Israel "stole" Palestine from the Palestinians. However Israel seems to be a beacon for democracy and respect for minorities in the region. Something like 17% of Israelis are Muslim... If Israel was given back to the Palestinians what are the chances it would descend into another failed Middle Eastern country?
  4. Have you considered heavy grazing? I understand if you graze it hard with cows the cow's hooves trample the bracken down.
  5. A group or Muslim extremists attack a village and kill 100 muslims. Yet people think NATO troops are the bad guys? Perhaps the extremists that attacked this village were actually NATO troops disguised as Boko Haram soldiers?
  6. Well the point that some are making on this thread is "they only attack us because we attacked them first". But since the homosexual community never attached Islam it shows that argument isn't very strong. No matter what the west does regarding Islam we will be continually attacked.
  7. What else does the west do though? Leave the Taliban alone so they can provide sanctuary to the likes of Osama Bin Laden? Was that French man beheaded because of a missile strike in Afghanistan? Did that Tunisian kill 38 people because of something that happened in a different continent?
  8. So are homosexuals killed by the Taliban or not? Was that schoolgirl shot by the Taliban? Perhaps you hate homosexuals and don't really care if they are killed?
  9. Wow! With arguments like that I'm really coming round to your way of thinking. It's rare for me to feel intellectually outclassed, but this might be one such occasion. Perhaps you could show the "sheeple" that the western media is wrong about ISIS and go to Syria and show that they are the good guys? I can't help thinking your profile cartoon is very apt....
  10. Do the Taliban kill homosexuals or not? If homosexual killing is something the western media have made up to discredit the Taliban why do the taliban not deny it? How about that schoolgirl that was shot by the Taliban for going to school? Was she really shot? Maybe we should have another poll A. She is actually a robot made by the CIA. B. It's all CGI and there is no girl. C. She wasn't actually shot and it was just a paper cut. D. It serves her right, she doesn't need an education to cook and clean.
  11. Yeah, perhaps the Taliban are the good guys really. It must be bliss living in a society where music is banned but you can still go and watch homosexuals be killed. Perhaps we could have a poll us to the best way to kill homosexuals? A. stoning B. Thrown from tall building C. having a wall pushed on them. Perhaps the independent journalists from the website you quote could go to Syria and tell us what it's like there? They must be amazing journalists if they can get top secret information like the Americans intend to nuke Yemen. I'm also amazed they found out that it was America that planned the recent terrorist attack in Tunisia.

    Gyms :)

A bit bigger than that! More like a 3C Maglite.

    Gyms :)

David, All sailors are as hetero as they come! Just ask the prozzies in the York Hotel in Dubai! In all honesty though the gym was brilliant last night, I looked like I had a Maglite in my pocket.

    Gyms :)

I went last night (not been in ages) and it was brilliant. It was like being in a lapdancers with fit birds wearing very little.
  15. Tbh, I'd be very surprised if you got any money for a single pine... At the moment a tonne of top spruce sawlog is worth about thirty pounds...
  16. How many trees are you talking about? What type of pine are they? Are you sure they are not spruce? the growth rate indicates a spruce to me. tbh, if you are talking a few hundred spruce trees with massive side branches (because they were next to an open field) you might be disappointed...
  17. it looks like he is staring at your bum?
  18. Did you undertake trial holes? Perhaps you did and you were unlucky enough to have missed the pipeline? Have you photos that shows the depth was likely to have been 220mm at installation? tbh, I would probably play the "I'm very sorry but I undertook a cat scan and trial holes and nothings showed up, will you let me off this once?" game. HSE says this: "A gas service pipe should normally be laid with a minimum depth of cover of 375 mm in private ground and 450 mm in footpaths and highways." Pipelines: frequently asked questions - FAQs NG could still argue it was 375mm when the pipe was laid. I was working on a motorway where a contractor had to pay £400k for shutting the motorway down - all due to an unrecorded gas valve.
  19. It's funny how we're all different. I'd love a garden with a couple of rotting tree stumps, I think they look like pieces of sculpture. They are also good for insects.
  20. it looks like a wound that has been there for years? is there an actual hole? can you stick a pencil in?
  21. I wouldn't have any tree two foot from my house... Could you transplant it?
  22. I'd vote for a 1.5 tonne mini digger with concrete breaker. I've come across "expanding grout" at work, you drill a hole in concrete, pour this grout in and it slowly expands and breaks the concrete.

    wow!!!

The guy was clearly running at 26 seconds. An ideal worker! He'd be running back from the chipper.
  24. About ten years ago I went to Cambodia, one of the tourist things out there is firing guns. I fired an ak47, m60 and a m16. Seemingly there is one range where you can shoot a cow with a rocket propelled grenade.
