  1. The thing is when you look at how refugees/migrants contribute to European society it's not very encouraging..... The data below says that refugees have a crime rate 73% higher than native Dutch... "According to the figures from Danmarks Statistik, crime rate among refugees and their descendants is 73% higher than for the male population average, even when taking into account their socioeconomic background. A report from Teori- og Metodecentret from 2006 found that seven out of ten young people placed on the secured youth institutions in Denmark are immigrants (with 40 percent of them being refugees).[3]"
  2. I don't think anyone is claiming that all immigrants are scroungers, but equally we can all see that immigration is not as beneficial as we have been told over the last decades.... I really don't know how much more "cultural enrichment" we can take... Do you have any proof that 60% of doctors are immigrants? Do you think it morally acceptable that we take doctors from the developing world?
  3. "Russian troops 'fighting alongside Assad's army against Syrian rebels' Syrian state TV reportedly broadcasts footage of Russian soldiers and armoured vehicle fighting alongside pro-Assad troops " Russian troops 'fighting alongside Assad's army against Syrian rebels' - Telegraph
  4. Do you really think there aren't millions of AK47s in that part of the world? What do you think happened to them after the Iraq/ Iran war, Gulf War 1 and 2? "Kow Tow or Run" Yeah, obviously they couldn't form a resistance movement or anything. It's a bit depressing that if fanatics invade your country you've either got to join them in burning people alive or run away.
  5. And the "regular" Sunni don't fight back against ISIS because? As soon as we get over the idea that ISIS doesn't represent a lot of Sunni Muslims the better.
  6. This migration crisis seems to be a self inflicted problem though. For every migrant we let in another two will turn up on a European beach. Places like Austarlia were getting lots of boat migrants (that came from the other side of the world) until they stopped letting them into Australia. There will be ISIS supporters in the migrants that we are letting in. Sunni and Shia Muslims have been fighting for a thousand years. ISIS is not a new problem.... It's a thousand year old problem with a new name. Over the last ten years how many terrorist attacks have occurred in Europe from people whose background is from outside Europe? Letting them in is not the answer to stopping terrorism.
  7. "There's only one way to solve any of this & we need the whole of Europe involved:" Why does it have to be Europe that has to solve the problem? Is it not time that the Middle East started to solve their own problems? Saudi/ Kuwait/ UAE have stupid amounts of money and land....
  8. The thing is that my grandfather never shot fascists so that people that hate secular democracy can claim asylum in the UK.
  9. It is a very moving photograph. But does it mean we all get weepy and send P&O ferries to pick up Syrians from Turkey?
  10. It does, it makes me think that we should return all the migrants leaving turkey so that no other families risk their life to get to Europe.
  11. "According to official statistics, 21.0% of rapes have been committed by foreigners in Finland.[13] Foreigners comprise 2.2% of the population.[13]" makes you think....
  12. that's the thing, you feel sorry for all those people that are dying in war zones etc. but they come from a culture that encourages conflict... will they change when they get a European passport...
  13. if you have a spare two minutes watch this video. It shows migrants refusing aid because it has the "red cross" on the boxes..... [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2KhIZ8y0Mg[/ame]
  14. we need a like button on this site.
  15. The thing is that some previous immigrants into Europe haven't really integrated into European society... I'm all for giving countries like Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan etc money to look after the Syrians, but I would be against mass Syrian migration into Europe.
  16. maybe that makes sense, it "forces" people into filling up when the garage is quiet. Nothing worse than filling up after work and being stuck in a queue.
  17. Firing SSGs up into a tree doesn't strike me as being safe... Do many squirrel shooters load up with zombie killing cartridges before going shooting?
  18. what type of damage? tbh, I just cant see number 5 shot penetrating a trees bark and getting into the timber (unless fired at very short range). I think we've all seen damage done by squirrels on trees... I enjoy shooting squirrels and I don't want this to turn into a "shooting squirrels kills trees" urban legend.
  19. why would drey poking cause any real damage to a tree? The article you link to in a later post says this: "As the presence of steel shot in timber may cause degrade, nonsteel shot is recommended." It doesn't indicate that all shooting causes damage to trees... how many people shoot with steel? Is steel shot going to do more damage to a tree than a squirrel??
  20. Tbh, "working" when you are tired can be a waste of time.... Take some time off and come back to work like a coiled spring!
  21. When I worked in the Middle East I was paying 20 pence a litre for petrol and for that I could sit in my car while someone filled my car up LOL, I remember seeing some arab driving a unimog as his car, no where else could anyone afford to do that. The low oil price is good though anything that stops Saudi Arabia having money to spread their evil is a good thing
  22. It obviously is. But every other business that deals with food has to pay business rates... Ie abatoir, butcher, refrigerated haulage company etc.....
  23. I've often looked at hill land and wondered how much actuall food the land produces. The vegetation looks poor and the sheep are shivering in a corner. I can't see it producing that much by the time you exclude supplemental and winter feeding. If you plant the land with trees you get more shelter and the deeper tree roots bring up nutrients from the deeper soils. I honestly think there would be an abundance of deer if hill land was planted out. Is venison not worth more than lamb?
  24. I live in Scotland, a lot of the hill land here is covered with sheep. tbh, I would prefer if we got rid of the sheep and had more trees etc. I just don't see any economic sense for a hill farmer to have a 1000 sheep and sell 2000 lambs a year at £50 each. like it or not, I think most British people would rather have more wildlife than farms that have been grazed stupid by sheep.
