  1. Are you buying or selling them? Just been pricing up processors today and the japa was £6495 for the pto model and 3 ph adds about £1600 to that.
  2. The brother of a friend of ours needs a good log supplier. He lives in Ketton near Stamford. Recommendations please and i'll forward them on. Thank you muchly Tom
  3. Evening All, Just toying with a few ideas this chilly winters eve, and I might be in need of dry netted logs. Around 1000 nets to begin with. Could any interested parties please pm with me with as much info as possible regarding prices, net sizes ( no of logs per net), availability and delivery costs. Thank you muchly Tom
  4. Do as jake suggested to start with. There is a ring of ball bearings on the female connector that sit in a groove on the male, if either of these is dirty or damaged then any increase in pressure can cause them to pop off. failing that all I would suggest is to ensure that your return is going straight back into the tank rather than back through the spool as that can also create a sort of back pressure. Let us know how you get on Tom
  5. I've just used industrial bulk containers from over near Manchester. they were good to deal with and quick. They were about £2 delivered if you bought 100, plus vat of course. the rep was called steve price I think.
  6. welcome along buzz, ideally buy a new saw if you can stretch to it. failing that it could be safer to buy a saw from an arbtalk member through arbtrader, you're less likely to be diddled.
  7. don't itemise it just call it a delivered price and charge 5% on it that way you save the customer a bob or two and they'll appreciate it.
  8. please correct me if i'm wrong, but if you dispose of a grant bought asset within 5 years then defra get their money back off you
  9. I agree about our defence, we put in nearly 4 times the tackles than the aussies just to keep em out. Robshaw was immense, relieving him of the burden of captaincy has allowed him to focus on what he does best tackles and turnovers. I think etoje ( don't know how to spell it) is turning into a world class player, a bit like a young Courtney laws, big and athletic.
  10. Thanks woodworks, Unless the pics are deceptive your concrete floor is smoother than mine, but those large diameter wheels at the back are the key. it might restrict to pulling over the bumps though. What make is it and roughly what did it cost?
  11. Could you let us know how you get on as I am faced with an almost identical situation but with spud boxes. I've got the telehandler to shove them through the doorway but need a pump truck to shuffle them about inside. Many thanks
  12. sound advice taken on board Mr Forester, in all other aspects I try to exploit the capabilities of all our kit to minimse stress on my body but this thing is just too slow. Maybe I have to just chill a bit and stop racing to get everything done as quick as possible.
  13. I got a thor 22 ton vertical a couple of years back and got the winch as an option. For us it was a bit of a waste of money for the following reasons. Firstly, i'm relatively young and fit so I can lift things that the winch can't. secondly, its a slow process extending the winch cable, fastening it to the log, winding it in and unfastening it. Thirdly, whatever method you have of attaching the cable to the log ( tongs etc) is in the way when operating the splitter. However, I can see that if I were less physically able then it could be a godsend. if you laid all your timber out in a big arc around it you could split all day with less exertion but slowly. Put it this way we broke the cable last year and haven't felt the need to fix it yet. Hope this helps tom
  14. I think mr muttley might have been pulling your leg
  15. supposedly it'll cut 300mm (12 inch) but in reality this is more like 11 inch as even straight timber has small lumps and bumps on it which prevents the saw from going right through.
  16. we've got a ryetec with the 4m conveyor and its a decent thing. its irritating how many short logs miss the reception hopper for the conveyor but I can live with it. must have cut 100 ton with it now and no issues yet not even a resharpen.
  17. Hi Rob and welcome, We have a thor 22 ton vertical splitter from davies implements. Its PTO powered and will split 4 ft. Its been excellent and we've broken down some 4 ft diameter ash lumps with it, we weighed some of them before we split them and they were around 1.1 ton. We haven't got it stuck yet. the only bad points are the winch and the side arms that catch the lumps so you don't have to reach all the way down to resplit. The latter appear to have been fabricated out of chocolate and the former is not worth having as it wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. Tom
  18. Jas p Wilson always seems to have plenty on the website. they are mainly posch machines which is no surprise as they are posch dealers
  19. cab glazing have done decent work for me before. I can dig their number out tomorrow if you can't find them online
  20. has anyone got a japa 600/ 700? and if so how have they got round the issue of shorter logs tippling over in the splitting trough. ta muchly
  21. There is Hydrapower near me ( east of York) if that's not too far. 01347878254 ask for ray. they do 3 stage rams for ag trailers but you may need more specialist than that.
  22. Well done. Are they new customers or are your existing customers burning more?
  23. I've got one with a 4 m conveyor, good saw for the money. its reasonably well made, its a bit clumsy to fold/ unfold, the log length stop is flexible ( and flimsy) so if you're not careful you don't get uniform logs and when you're cutting short logs they tend to miss the hopper sometimes. on the plus side I don't think there's anything quicker for cutting billets or small diameter stuff. If I'm on it next to the stack you can do a 1.3m3 potato box in under 40 mins and we haven't had to sharpen the blade yet and its probably done 100 ton. If there's anything I've missed ask away. Tom
  24. If you can cope with a 17 ton load then I can work out a price but any less is going to make the haulage a bit dear. tom 07801685671
  25. processor spec hardwood for sale, certainly 1 possibly 2 x 17 tonne wagon loads. mainly sycamore with a some ash, birch and alder mixed in. 10 foot lengths I can arrange haulage. tom 07801685671
