I have tried most of the boots mentioned and has I do a lot of walking via mower I soon wear boots out in less then 2months regardless what I have paid ,I now buy my boots from Aldi when the tall laced boots come in for £17.99 and they last longer than any of the so called branded boots especially Stihl !!   6. There is a great deal of confusion in the UK regarding the best wood to burn as well as woods to avoid. All wood is good to burn in a stove as long as it is dry. Even seemingly reliable sources of information sometimes get this completely wrong. You may read or be told that only hardwood logs are suitable and that you should not burn pine or conifer as these contain sap? or resins which tar up the chimney. This is rubbish. You may be told that there is more heat in hardwood than softwood. Again, not true. The calorific (heat) value of a kilo of softwood is almost identical to that of a kilo of hardwood, the softwood is just less dense so it takes up more space. You will have to put more pieces of a given softwood into your stove than you will hardwood, but weight for weight, the heat output will be about the same. With this in mind you should pay at least a third less for a given volume of softwood over hardwood. Ste
  7. Has 90% Of my tree work is Coni bashing i LOVE BURNING IT , just keep the chimney well swept though and no leaks in chimney has this can have a dire effect in the loft space with the sparks off it . Instant heat from it too. Ste
  8. I totally agree with what you are saying ,for me climbing is not my main income has the Garden and mini digger is were my main income comes from so the expense i cant justify for maybe 4 trees a month i take down via climbing . . Ste.

  14. Take a look at this link , shows a running bowline using a figure 8 which is similar to what i use but i use a prussik below the figure 8 clipped into to my harness on my leg has a backup . Ste
