  11. 9" bucket the max for roots if no ripper tooth available, the pressure applied to the boom/dipper arm is immense if using anything bigger . Ste

  18. Some of the mpg figures on here are doing my Yank F350 superduty proud ,i can fit a compact tractor on back or a micro digger with micro dumper and still have a empty trailer to fill and get 15mpg towing on motorway . This year i have changed tactics with regards to pricing,i arrange to meet customers when i know i will be working in that area and the same with log deliveries ,it has saved a small fortune and TIME , None of this shooting out at weekends and nights to price a job . Ste
  19. If you are new to this job and you do the job for £180 then two things can happen ..............you either p..s the job in no time or it takes two days and sweat your bollocks off ,either way it will teach you a lot so just go for the job and take it on the chin if it takes longer . Being new to job then i take it you wont have a big setup or staff etc to worry about so crack on chief . Ste
  20. Take your time getting back to work has it will do more harm ,i fell through a greenhouse glass has a 15 year old kid and had 126 stitches from my wrist to elbow ,had a tube in my arm for months to drain and severed just about everything bar my main artery . i am 46 now and that left arm is much weaker , Good on you for posting regardless of other comments from folk who will break the speed limit every day and are perfect . It reminds us all that we can take are minds of the job for seconds and pay the ultimate price . Speedy recovery mate . Ste
  21. Yes you are right with Dodge has we have one in family too on a 54plate and yes bhp great figures for towing ,Ford superduty Diesels are a heavy lump too , Has for fuel I get 12-15mpg towing on motorway for a 5.'4 lump I don't complain has it tows just about anything and has a nose weight of245kg on towbar. . Ste
  22. Not true with weight being 3500 when nearly empty, has my F350 is 2wd and not a diesel lump it weighs 2346kg empty and that good for truck of that size. Ste
  23. I have one but only use it when I am busy and van and trailers are loaded . It's a Ford F350 super duty with a 5,4 l motor , it's great for towing and has a 8ft rear bed but they are just too big for tight jobs , has a turning circle like the titanic (useless). Also mine is 2 wheel drive , okay if loaded has it has power lock on rear diff but being 23ft long it's like Bambi on ice when empty . Ste
  24. Grass cutting is easy to price ,volume is the key and look at all the little jobs has one job . I can earn more with little postage grass lawns has I am in and out in tens mins on to next one ,get half dozen in a road together and you are laughing . Don't price hourly , job and finish is the secret to lawns and don't pick a garden with huge borders , you can never get the money for them and the retired pen pushers like them too top up there pension pots . Gardens that just need a quick strim round the outside then mow , then it's my names GOF AND I AM OFF .. when you are established you leave most of the large pruning/shaping jobs too end off season and use mower to clean up leafs weather permitting and you can drag job out till just before Xmas.
