  2. This thread has prompted me into swapping the front wheels over on my last remaining ride on mower ..a Westwood S800 and its mint and what a cracker of a machine so simple with a optional cord start and 1 belt for the cutter deck .absolutely bullet proof . I weighed in 3 ride on mowers last month. Lawnflite , Yardman and ne old Countax ....sick to death of twin cutters and silly priced double running belts . Ste

  15. I would not worry to much about working with Yew or milling it and reading all about possible Toxins that may be present and then go out at night and sink a load of Alcohol down your throat LOL Ste
  16. Leave it alone and nature will take place ,you will find that next years growth will slow the grass down has they mature more with leafs giving a cover ,the tall grass will burn off in winter so hedge will leaf first . Had a similar scenario with a Hawthorn hedge and that is fine now . Ste
  17. Has stated in previous post's,it can open a can of worms on driveways etc ,watch out for whinging neighbours too has they will be watching to sue your arse if using strong detergents ...dead grass, paint work marked etc the list can go on . Nearly forgot ... Customers with pets are the worst .....dog has suddenly taken ill since you cleaned the driveway. Ste

  20. The rates for self drive diggers these days are obscene!!!!! For a day rate with a driver with the above rates Quoted you can get a week or more on self drive ! . H&E yard is rammed with new machine's and in my vicinity we are spoilt for choice of Hire firms . Ste

  22. That is the norm these days on modern tractors ,,,just make sure you use the correct spec of oil ...ie. Hy Tran or Hy Guard which is purposely made for transmission/hydraulic systems that use the same sump . Typical systems like A Case 4230 uses same oil all round including the brakes, steering and clutch reservoirs which are topped up automatically. Ste
  23. If its any consolation i am in a similar situation with pain ie can only sleep on one side if i do get to sleep , my left arm/hand/knuckles lock in the winter and my back i have to hang of the stairs bannister to stretch my spine to relieve the pain . Again like yourself i had a big paper round has a kid (pig farm) so i was battered from a early age now 47 . So this year i set out to reduced the repetitive chores in my job (garden maintenance/tree work and fencing). Invested in Cordless saws/hedge cutters and long reach to save the poor shoulder and knackered elbows from playing Roller Hockey! Again invested in 2 new mulching mowers Toro 30" and the Viking this alone knocked 5 hours of my round and reduced the repetitive grass box scenario. Next on the list was fencing.....simple one that. ....Dont do fencing anymore and my back is tremendous again It is possible to work something out that will help in the long and i now spend more time with the family and i ache a lot less too . Ste
  24. We have had 7'David Browns in the past and still have two 995s that need restoring. Very capable tractor for its size . Ste
  25. Because said field needs to be put back to grass and I have postponed till now has residents of the estate are complaining and I for one totally agree with your comments but I have no choice or another contractor swoops in and starts rocking the boat on the whole estate I look after . There is a 8 acre plot next door to This in exactly the same which is to be left alone . Steering wheel play lol ....no hands on steering wheel is reason. . Ste
