  6. Saying some of the more "out there" stuff that will probably never happen will distract from other things than they hope to achieve more under the radar., E.g ditching enviro regs, planning limits, the eco farming subs reform, the net zero carbon aims. Destroy the BBC and NHS etc Seems everything is up for grabs (not that there are much pulblic assests left to loot) Also market volitility & f**king things up general into some kind of dysfunctional dystopia whilst its a disaster for the majority, will creates new market oppurtunities to profit from for some. The idea that the truss economic plan will boost GDP growth and benefit all is such naive magical thinking that im not sure that most of the more intelligent right wing type tories even believe in it, but are just playing along.
  7. I used to remove all the nails before any cutting. Also have a pallet buster bar. Best pallets were the two way USA ones with "stringers" rather than blocks and they also had very wide & thick planks - they all seemed to be made of oak. Loads better than the more common random light weight ones . Haven't done any for yrs as my source the good ones dried up and the crappy ones didn't seem worth the hassle.
  8. Pile the logs on the verge a sign saying "free logs" im sure they would be gone very fast.....
  9. Thinking on having a go at rehandling a billhook thats missing its handle. The tang profile is flat and it tapers down like the one in the picture below & just under 6" long (5.5" seems like the standard length for billhook handles?) I have another complete billhook and the tang end is bent over with a washer on Have a offcut from a ash fork handle thats suitable size for the handle The idea was to drill & rasp out the roughly the tang shape then & burn it in to finish. Atm don't have a suitable (long enough) drill bit & narrow & rasp etc to create the correct hole profile Any pointers on the best way/tools etc to cut the hole the correct shape to fit the tang?
  10. Sounds like abit of a design flaw . Why not have an adjustable baffle/flue damper for use whilst lighting? I get the design logic for max % efficiency & its maybe that they think people can't be trusted to not leave it open.

  12. Thought it best to look early as heard talk/hearsay that there was going to be widespread shortages due to all the new tree planting schemes going on atm, but maybe it is too early. Just wondered if anyone else had heard similar?
  13. Seems there is abit of supply shortage judging buy prices and stock lvls?
  14. Good idea in your opinion if you believe in trickle down & its is not a view that is shared by all economists.
  15. Looks very good but will the owner be happy with such a light reduction?

  17. I wouldn't bother pissing about removing stumps from small areas for conservation purposes Regen will back back in no time anyway unless all the trees are removed from a larger surrounding area Sounds like you need some animals grazing the site other wise it will be like fighting against the tide. Saying the above alot of conservation practice does seem to be totally bonkers (imo) similar nonsense. Have you seen theese tree pullers thought they were a neat idea not used them though
  18. 5yrs /10ys old just dig them out / use a winch/ or use a farm hi lift jack. Whats the site for anyway?

    Echo CS-4310SX

I agree they won't sell hardly any. Seems the don't understand the UK market even though in japan they probably dominate it? Echo brand awareness is very low in UK not sure how they can hope to increase there market share either with home owners or pro but they don't seem to be doing a very good job at it. Shame as ther product is as good as the others. There "home owner" saws look better quality than the ubiquitous ms181 etc? Im guessing stihl is way ahead of the rivals across all market segments with 1 company being so dominant its hard to compete
  22. Maybe it was the norwegians taking out the competition as they have just opened a new pipe to Poland. 😏 Or attack dolphins?
  23. Had an oil pump gum up with regular mineral oil also.
  24. Never being bothered about noise as can wear ear defenders. From limited exprience do seem to get gassed by the exhaust though when using a PTO splitter esp if wind is changing direction etc or if its a very still day. Doesn't seem to be an issue that bothers other people though.
