  1. Maybe it needs a pollination group partner as why no apples yet?
  2. I thought juglone only affected certain plants like tomatoes..... Looking at wikipedia the info seems abit unclear on how much it does effect various plants.... Of the walnuts at a properties ive done work at with many different plants species underneath one was in a large flower border for example and ive not seen any noticable ill effects.
  3. Intersting I thought it would be the opposite maybe gauge has more influence than the pitch IF the 1/4 is 1.3mm gauge & the 3/8lp is on 1.1mm? Looking at the jap mak catalogue ^ they have alot of options! eカタログ | 株式会社マキタ WWW.MAKITA.CO.JP マキタは、総合電動工具メーカーとして、充電式を含む電動工具、木工機械、エア工具、エンジン式を含む園芸工具を取り... The rear handle 40v has either 35mL or 42mL petrol eqivalent models the 42ml is alot heavier- to heavy imo for the limited power on battery saws, the 35ml ones look more useful but both lines have the same 1600w motor size listed ( on makita NZ) Only idifference I can find is the 42mL take the 40v 8amp batteries the 35ml ones don't fit it not sure if there are any other differences.......

    Eh!

Had a woodpecker attacking a pigeon on my bird feeder. Was amusing as it looked only about 1/3 the size V the pigeon but its must be way higher on the on the bird "pecking order" Maybe woodpeckers having a very strong peck makes them extra fiesty for there size?
  7. Or the bogging down could be an air leak?
  8. So what are the carving bars and chains like on the toppers not for carving but just regular use use UC006G - Top Handle Chainsaw XGT® WWW.MAKITAUK.COM Product Im thinking would be smoother for prunning over 3/8lp?
  9. So in last picture are the still green bits lower down different trees that avoided the fire or are they all part of the same tree?
  10. Some fire adapted tree species like eucs for example can survive they resprout but unlikely yours will unlesss you have them...?
  11. I always grow to much then most goes to feed the chickens or compost heap Atm have shit load of little gem lettuce that the hens like. No beans? - beans are easy to grow & you get a good harvest from them from a small area.... Did you make the greenhouse then?
  12. Measure at the bottom of the meniscus when measuring out the volumes...
  13. Some type of Oak as can see a few lobes in first pic? AI says
  14. Its the guards plus stakes which have caused problems were they larger trees which is imo a bad idea for such large volume plantings? If your stake is attached low down as possible so top tree can move in the wind the trees will develop alot better root anchoring but then this would not support the guards..... If staked low by the time the stakes fail trees will hopefully have anchored its self.... I once made alot of stakes from free larch sawmill offcuts
  15. I don't think that species can be overwatered as looking up info says they grow in water logged conditions naturally AI/google says River birch trees are particularly susceptible to developing iron chlorosis (yellowing of leaves) in alkaline soils. This is because the high pH of alkaline soil makes it difficult for the tree to absorb the essential nutrient iron. Some infos River birch might be a lost cause - West DIGITALEDITION.CHICAGOTRIBUNE.COM But apparently Wake county NC is mostly acidic.... Soil Survey of Wake County, North Carolina : United States. 22. Well its very often true.
  23. So why is it different to the husky or oregon versions as same pitch and gauge?
