I don't consider myself to be an extreme animal lover. I even kill turkeys for christmas, and take my sheep to the abbatoir. I do however try to give all creatures respect and dignity. So I find it both saddening and disturbing to read the current exposure being given to (Americans) hunting big "game" in Africa. Why Game? Do the animals involved enjoy playing it? Then trying to expand my mind a bit, I googled hunting tours, only to find that there are many more companies offering this service than I could ever have imagined. I believed this industry/occupation/hobby was consigned to the history books. Shoot an animal dead, then that's it. Its over. No one else can ever see it. Selfish ! Photograph and enjoy and let others do the same, and it promotes spending tourists for these cash strapped countries, and preserves and maintains an ecological balance. We really are a truly shameful race on this planet. Or am I misguided?

Another traditionally used timber for lorry beds was poplar - nice to know it does have a use ! It was liked because it was lightweight, takes impacts well, will dent under point pressure but then restores as long as fibres aren't broken, and copes with flexing and twisting of the chassis. Oh , and of course is cheap and sustainable and easily replaced. You need to make sure it has adequate support for length of span vs load.

But yes unless you personally are in a position to change things get on with your life to the best of your abilities and avoid losing time wishing things were different. God loves a tryer. Also much earlier in this thread ( can't believe its rattled on for this long !) it was mentioned that she'd bought a neighbouring house for a million just to demolish it. I cant imagine she sent 'the boys' round to negotiate this , - the money was taken and life moves on. As long as she continues to pay the bucks to maintain the place we're all potential winners. There isn't a roll pin either in the thickness of the frame of the outer eye ,or behind it and between it and the ram eye by any chance. There must be a securing pin somewhere that you just haven't found

West Cork in ireland, and maybe other areas has a long standing tradition of providing a lunch for a contractor or labourer. All the more common and massive when working for farmers. The damn things look like Christmas dinners - almost all of my clients ( mobile milling) are farms. I've had to learn to intercept the wife/ mother /cook and protest my inability to eat large meals during the day. I'm always given the look of deep loathing having refused the food. Having attempted the ordeal a couple of times and been almost asleep on my feet and unable to bend to pick up the planks just a cup of tea will do for me. Also how can I price my hourly rate when I've been sat at their table eating their grub? Always have a good breakfast, a good supply of crisps and sweets, then the main event when I get home.

Jon, trees like this come up maybe once every 6 months so I just cant justify the cost of an 880 hence the skip tooth method to reduce horsepower required and givw the old girl a chance
