  1. Does anyone know if this wood can be used for anything? Or does anyone want it? Thanks will
  2. I suffer cold hands too. Some good ideas here i use the windmilling my arms around one but it hurts like hell if your hands are already numb. Keep Your wrists warm yes, also helps if you don't wear a watch. Nobody mentioned ski gloves? I had a pair of gortex lined ones, they kept my hands toasty and dry all day and lasted a surprisingly long time too, used them a lot in the mewp in the snow a few years back. But whilst climbing nothing beats the exhaust of yer topper!
  3. All trainees should be bought a stihl 170 to start with. Nota great saw but it's ok for what they need. If they need to use a bigger saw then can do under supervision. They can then learn to keep there little saw sharp, mend it when it breaks and no one else will want to use it. Which will prove he blunted it
  4. It's a better looking saw than the others too!

  8. If I blunt a chain while working I can sharpen it real quick ( bout 2 mins flat ) good enough to carry on just use a new file, give 3 or 4 strokes to each tooth then I try to get it better on the vice in the work shop in the evening. You don't have to spend much time sharpening as you think. Just try doing it quickly you'll be surprised Good luck will

  12. Who makes the best tree workers? My mate said years ago that forestry workers made better cuts and had sharper chains than pure arbs, he started as a cutter then went to merrist wood and did arb when he was 20. He was one of the best tree fallers I ever seen. And what would people rather do if they had the choice forestry or domestic tree work? Thanks will
