  1. Yes I think that bit I get, but how and where the rubber track that holds the pipes I don't fully understand, or know where to get the parts
  2. The extension goes out 6ftish and there's going to be 4 pipes in there, This is the best photo I have to give an example.
  3. I only have 1 extension of approx 6ft so the reel would be excessive. I'm hoping track will be cheaper. Cheers I'll give them a call
  4. I'm fitting a log grab to my MOG hiab, trying to find somewhere that sells rubber tracks for the pipes to retract into when you extend the boom. Has anyone done similar ?

  13. I like to get there early and while the cranes setting up pre - sling the tree so you don't have to faff about with the chains. As high up the stem as poss to keep the weight down and the section vertical. Ask the banksman to put 1ton of lift then 3/4 cut through horizontal then a back cut down at a 45' angle and it'll pop off. Ask the banksman the weight after each lift and you'll start learning.

  18. Finally got the chance to sort some issues with the MOG. Kept losing top gear so had to strip the back to get at the gear box. Body off Crane off Found a couple of seals that needed replacing
  19. Competent climber required for two weeks work to cover holidays. 38/39 a minimum. Based in Moray.
  20. Make sure you get the parents to sign the RAMs/description of duties as being under 18 there not legally allowed to sign them.
  21. Cheaper costs up north maybe, have a good machanic/engineer.
