  1. I do like that, so if your running multiple jobs does one of the climbers do that ? What are the terms for payment of an invoice ? Yours and legally ? Is all this on your quote and signed of before also ? If they don’t pay within those first days are you straight in with a debt collection ?
  2. I find it easier and the customers appreciate it. If you take payment on the door step it would be cash or cheaque which is a pain going into the bank. If your wanting transferred then you need to provide an invoice which they legal have 30 days anyway(Scotland) . I’m set up for larger jobs anyway so don’t really notice the difference . I would find it hipocrytical when I use fuel cards, credit cards, finance, when I’m invoiced for anything I pay within 2 weeks.
  3. Private get 1 month, commercial get 3. Just the way it is, whether it’s right or wrong not worth worrying about. How many people use account facilities at shops when buying a new saw or wait a week to pay pay a bill. Same difference
  4. My simple advice would be work for an established company for at least 2 years grounding whilst gaining your climbing tickets and learning the trade.
  5. That’s a very powerful and sobering read. Will absolutely be in my mind when taking a risk next. I’m assuming colleges lay on horror slide shows and stories of accidents already to highlight the dangers. An account like that from a family member would be far more hard hitting. I disagree also with tip guards, increased training levels and better regulation would be my suggestion.
  6. This is awesome stuff, really interesting to see the progress in years to come.
  7. From today’s work with the Silk Fox
  8. Due to new contracts I’m looking for a subby Climber and or groundsman for a couple of weeks or a few days. North east Scotland
  9. Good luck, great attitude. Phone around local companies on an evening to see if they need a hand the next day. Be polite, professional and straight to the point.
  10. Yard costs will depend on location, what size you need could be anywhere from free to thousands a month. Depending on what kit you have will depend what repair bills you will have. Also if you’ve bought new or dodgy second hand. Wages will be top then fuel
  11. 500 Scots Pines to fell, chip and extract
  12. So the LA can recommend a reduction to 2m where the result would be bare stems and death of the trees/hedge? So the LA might as well recommend complete removal. Cost wise and common sense.
  13. Do you have any reference to back that up ? Problem I have is if you have a massive WRC trees/hedge which would likely kill it if you reduced it below 2m and if you can’t recommend removal you have no where to go. I recommended staged reduction over many year assessing regrowth and vogue as you go, but we’re getting bogged down in solicitors. This is what I referenced : sect 24 applies https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/high-hedges-complaining-to-the-council/high-hedges-complaining-to-the-council
  14. Can a Council order a neighbour in a dispute to remove the hedge or recommend works that would have a detrimental effect ? Some guidances say yes some don’t mention it. Is this a grey area or does anyone know the facts one way or another. Cheers
  15. Ah good shout, I’ll look into that
  16. eBay Lots of varying prices but if you search about you’ll find them cheap
  17. Fitted this system to some spare helmets today. Fairly cheap £50 for a pair, took 10mins to fit. Could hear the other guy crystal clear with the saw running.
  18. Do you have load sensors on the hiab ?
  19. Is there a way to buy extended warranties ?
