  1. No doubt Scotland will be jumping in with a free soap on a rope as the border for everyone along with the already free period products ?. Whilst I get people can be in poverty, a simple solution other than not having kids and cancelling sky tv is to just have the machines free in schools.
  2. I did see the apology pop up on a few news outlets, in typical journalistic fashion they glossed over her recent election so any apologies would be for the previous politician. Justin "Castro" won't be happy.
  3. With the price of steel and sleepers, it'll probably be easier just to pour concrete pads and bolt them down and maybe use concrete panels ?. What do you mean underwater, as in water table ?. Plus how much is going to be above ground as that's more the deciding factor.
  4. It'll never happen, the first two were both the first and the very last used in anger. To keep saying he'll nuke someone is just media hype. It will never ever happen, MAD was and is a glorified mine is bigger than yours game to keep people spending money on weapons whilst at the same time keeping they're electorate quiet.
  5. Isn't she the one that's just been elected tho.
  6. 1000s if memory serves, I do have the book somewhere on my bookshelf.
  7. That's why I asked if it's alpha or beta, alpha is pretty much stopped by a sheet of paper or the plastic wrapper. Everything is radioactive to a greater or less extent. Providing your not licking radium clock dials or doing a radioactive boyscout, it's all relative.
  8. I should also ask if that's alpha or beta radiation. Coal ash is actually radioactive, but as with all things in life, common sense and you'll be fine. I have been into a nuclear power stations in the past, same place 1st time just in standard overalls and the 2nd full on suit and respirator. Only difference was airborne dust.
  9. Plenty of grease, worked hard it'll drink it like it's going out of fashion. Same with UJ joints, drive belts, the spec doesn't mention if it's got shear bolts. But if it has buy a bucket load and never be tempted to use stronger bolts.
  10. One has to wonder what miracle they're expecting from something that's a waste products. Whilst I've heard no2's being lab purified for solving digestive problems. Maybe even weirdos draw the line at picking loo paper out of the next meal, or is that just added roughage?
  11. Depends on how much discount 😉. As the saying goes we're all whores, we just argue about the price.
  12. Transport is probably even cheaper due the it being at the end of its trip from China. It's one of the reasons we in the UK started building brick houses using Flemish bricks as they couldn't sail empty ships back to the UK.
  13. Radioactivity isn't altered by burning, what it does do is make it airborne, which is more dangerous. But agree, buy local. Everything is radioactive, even lead was highly radioactive a billions ago. You get quite a high dose if you fly anywhere too.
  14. Nicola has let that moustache grow a bit!.
  15. Maybe Boris has decided he'll put his name down for London mayor again instead of being PM ?.
  16. Brexit was never PR, as a kick to the nether regions we did elect a lot of UKIP MEPs as a message. But that hardly changed MPs. You'll be next wanting even more of a gravy train with more devolution to regions. It's hard enough with what 600+ MPs let alone more.
  17. Whilst it does give a platform to a wider variety of parties and even independents. You just end up in political deadlock and bartering for slivers of power. Whilst our system is far from ideal, if they actually had any ideas they are able to do them. Obviously historically and not the recent ridiculousness.
  18. They're reporting that Boris pulled out due to the investigation that's not finished. But he's waiting on the side lines etc. Granted that could be all journalist guff, but nothing surprise's me any more. At the same time we have zero credible opposition, other than flip flop between two party shambles. Anything is better than proportional representation and the total gridlock that seems to cause elsewhere around the world.
  19. It's a bit like the garden party photos, which nobody ever says who took them.
  20. But the sign said no coitus interruptus.
  21. Better to atleast try and fail and get a bit dirty than call daddy or the AA. It's not exactly an EOD, providing he doesn't drop the car on the ground what's the worst that can happen. He'll, I'd even prefer he watched a couple of YouTube videos first and gave it a try than sit there like a lemon.
  22. Hang on a minute, if we're having a dumpster fire of all my botches and bodged the least I'd do is do mine in the field out back. I like a warm bed but even I have limits 😉.
  23. Detention might be an understatement, headmasters cane sounds more applicable.
  24. A data sheet is a bit thin on the ground as it's made by ABX in Czechoslovakia and called a Arktis. It's 2.5-7 Kw, so could be getting a bit toasty and melting the silicone sealant. 1st port of call is the installer, take plenty more pictures and see what they say. Twin wall can and does get very hot depending on the install, but the installer has his name on the job so it's up to them to sort it.
  25. Every day is a school day as they say 🙂
