  1. At the same time you could ask about guilts/government bonds. Are these owed by foreign companies or by people in the UK, as I presume historically it was UK owned and atleast any profits stayed within the country.
  2. No, definitely Drax. But like a lot of older power stations they were built on or right next to coal fields with train line access. It's scandalous really, same with these waste recovery places, we shouldn't need to bury waste unless it's biodegradable. Personally I say build the waste recovery sites, open up every closed public tip and recycle and then burn everything else.
  3. Wasn't there a guy with a nursery last month looking to get cleared?. But think your right about it being too early, usually around the first frost time once everything is dormant.
  4. It's not exactly a secret, they have a huge drax owned and operated industry in the USA turning wood into wood pellets, shipping them to I think Gateshead. They then get off loaded from the drax owned boat, onto huge drax trains and shipped to the power station, where they are ground into powder and then burned. All whilst sitting on a coal seams, if I remember right one boat is like three days worth of wood pellets.
  5. Without swearing, my god that's expensive but that does include nationwide delivery. The website pictures of the place looks very "clean" tho.
  6. Can we atleast go back to paper money before the wine bar/spearmint rhino conversion?
  7. I think you're probably venturing into criminal damage and theft, if it's not you're property or with permission.
  8. Or maybe more like Archimedes, Eurekaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  9. With all that free electric we'll have a frost free winter. Swap over all those led street lights for infrared garden heaters and the kids can skip to school in the summer uniform.
  10. Yeah, I'm sure British gas might have a different opinion.
  11. I think we all know education is not indicator of intelligence, I've known people with masters degrees that couldn't fit a car battery the correct way round and that's practically impossible as the terminals are different sizes!.
  12. There is a phrase which comes to mind, chlorine in the gene pool.
  13. Profitable and a big driving force for innovation. Most technology has advanced as a result of war.
  14. Only if your wanting that posh looking fireplace installing in your expensive house extension.
  15. Well they are only a broad range indication of the temperature, fitting a threaded insert bolt would be more accurate as your installer could use it to check flue gases. However if you look at the burley mentioned, the flue gas depending on model can be as low as 122c.
  16. What a load of Pollock's 😉
  17. It'll be that pirate of the sea, captain Birdseye working as a mercenary!.
  18. Surely if I was the Russians and I wanted to sabotage my own for lack of a better word cash cow pipeline. Wouldn't it be easier to just send a few divers out to loosen the pipeline bolts, allows it to leak and puts it out of action for long enough for the Germans to get a bit nervous.
  19. It's just vaping without the nicotine 🙂. It shouldn't really become too airborne, and which are you going to be more bothered about, the mineral oil based chain oil getting soaked into the wood shavings, the two stroke exhaust or the tree falling on you ?.
  20. Cheaper than those nobbly condoms 😉
  21. Been using Gator 30 for a while, pretty thick and does the job. Just don't get it touch your face with your glove, whatever the additive causes spots.
  22. And even then, polls mean zero unless they bring the election forward
  23. You can always request a MSDS for the stuff as even if it's special they have to list all ingredients.
  24. And the ensuing abba tune dancing around their heads. Which is probably better than fiddler on the roof.
  25. Roll out my fetching tinfoil hat collection and join a hippy commune to enjoy free love before the apocalypse?.
