  1. From what I've read you don't just dose them prevention for varroa, it's not like spot on for bees. I don't seem to understand your default everything is bad attitude to farming or anything even faintly agricultural. You do seem to have that as your default, we are not American style farming and never have been. UK farming is pretty sustainable, we aren't denuding the countryside for a quick buck and then spending more money artificially keeping things alive.
  2. I'm assuming that's more of the charity restoration canal trusts as apposed to the CRT ?.
  3. Two cube falls outside of the firewood seasoning rules, technically you have to give them a leaflet explaining how to dry them tho. But we'll leave that minefield of a discussion to another day.
  4. Having native bluebells in your woodlands certainly helps to focus the mind on clearing the overgrowth and things like horrible holly trees. The more you clear the greater the carpet of bluebells, it's become something of a tradition of posting my once a year Facebook post with a picture.
  5. Just what anyone wants in their garden, a tree that smells of c*m. Roll out the queen victoria sketch.
  6. It all depends on what you want to achieve in the end, if it's native and natural leave thinning decisions til summer. Focus on thinning canopy cover and keeping the undergrowth clear, especially for access and keeping a clear line of sight for squirrel control etc. Whilst it looks barren in winter in July it's like a blackout.
  7. Jebus, it'll be a three way tie of evilness. Even Satan himself would bow out for lack of "game". Maybe I'm showing my age but I have watched paradise PD https://youtu.be/F0ZhsMZ9RXo
  8. I'm still not sure if Klas or tony is the more evil bond villain. I'm sure tony has spent more nights plotting world domination instead of going to bed with Cherie, even the thought does bring a bit of sick to the back of the throat.
  9. Wasn't that the US air force not airline pilots?
  10. I live by everyone is picky about firewood until it's cold.
  11. I wasn't advocating any option in particular, it all depends how quickly you want a return. As I said at worst it's biomass, depends on if you've the time, space etc to separate. Maybe do that next time once you have a feeling for who, where, what and how much 🙂
  12. I wasn't wanting to be the wood police, but you never know. It's the old doing it yourself cheap and taking a dogs age Vs paying for someone's time. Obviously biomass is the lowest paying but it gets gone quickly.
  13. Presumably you're selling what has been licensed or legally felled?. As unless it's all above board you're not going to have a huge stockpile of timber.
  14. He has been right a lot of the time, I'm more wondering what's really going on. Arden has announced she's stepping down, Trudeau will probably be next. The real question is what they do next!. Blair already has his eyes on the Wef instead of uncle Klas the bond villain. And no that's not moonbat, a young PM doesn't just go I'm outta here without a plan. Hated she might be but there is a till ringing somewhere.
  15. Definitely in the burn anything category too, generally keep the lump size down and providing it's dry it burns.
  16. Russell brand did a video on YouTube last night about it. Rather worrying when they follow the money.
  17. I'm aware of the size of an L200, mine is sat on the driveway. It's a boat as it is without adding another 3ft after the tow hitch tho. I would say reinforce the area around the fuel tank, as the tub provides protection and maybe mudguards as the mud will get thrown against the rear cabin vents and is usually covered by the wheel well liners.
  18. It was trying to do eco deliveries, less packaging and direct onto your cornflakes.
  19. They said yesterday it was 90% voted in favour with a turnout of 50% at one union. I'd love a breakdown of that 50% by age, as most of those I trained with briefly before escaping back to industry had never had a real job in their lives. I will also say they do a lot of paperwork hours, so I'm not totally against them but your union should be doing something about that as apposed to strikes.
  20. And that's before we even get discussing the privatised national grid and the billions that goes abroad.
  21. I want to see a picture of it holding this mythical cube, probably with both front wheels lifted in the air and it's arse dragging along like a dog with worms 😉.
  22. Sand absorbs and releases the heat slowly, it expands and contracts so needs to breath and not explode like a tin can. Whilst in theory left empty it would be safe, it can cause the steel frame to warp, like when you're a little too eager with the welder. Bin the ancient thing, do whatever the stove installer says is required, preferably with an external fresh air kit to save a bit more heat. It's HETAS not corgi, corgi can't even touch it as they are gas only.
  23. They are bad because they need like 500+ ton of concrete for the base that's not for these new super turbines!. The miles of rebar before you even get out of the ground. Nothing is free. If it so great, zero subsidy and then you can decide how great they are before heading off to be scrapped. Just because I've seen a garden ornament with a man cutting logs powered by the wind isn't an argument to base a whole power network upon.
  24. There was that solar from space thing being talked about again, anything is better than wind turbines
  25. Personally I don't think wind is in any way cost effective without subsidies which means it's not viable. Solar on the other hand yes, fill your boots but only ever on buildings in the UK.
