On the subject of blue paint:thumbup1: Got me an FL220 hurban artic ( thats what the guy said it was) for running the smaller kit about. Just need to trim down a few trailers to go with it., 23ton gross so should have about fifteen ton payload. Bob Should be painted by next week

As Catweazle points out the coolant does need to be topped up but adding antifreeze wont change the temperature , minus five is minus five irrespective of fluid types. These trucks are made for inside use like warehouses and just dont like the cold, I have had to use the heat gun and blow torches before now to get it going but by far the best way is to keep it inside or covered up, if I can find a s/h webasto coolant heater I will fit that. Its also very greedy on gas, I am buying two bottles a month which come to about £70 vs £50 worth of diesel for the year in the one I got rid of ( big mistake ) Gas Hyster`s are the work of satan Bob

Dave the things are a ballache, The only way you will get any winter use out of it is to turn the tickover up a bit and allow it to idle for ten minutes before you use it. Touch the throttle without getting some heat into it and it will ice up. Our one now lives inside but the same applies, at the very least sheet it up when not in use. Bob Is it like ours?

Thats the way to go Ian, the long flexi rubber ones like a hydraulic hose,fit and forget. Those plastic pipes are only good on static kit inside factories, not good on kit outside in the elements that are rattling themselves to death. Bob

Rechargeable Led torch/wand worklight combo. Thats a bit smoother in operation than the one I borrow, the lifting slat type just rattle the gear to the back. That said you can launch stumps and chogs into it from a great height without damaging it. Bob

Mick a lot of places have banned conventional tippers because of the amount of accidents with them going over. As to the walking floor its slat like battens running the length of the tipper in rows, every other batten pops up (hydraulically) and shunts back a small amount, it then drops back down as the one next to it pops up, the one that has gone down then goes forward................ and on. Worth looking at and checking out another thread on here about towing with a telehandler, someone on here pointed out that not all of them are suitable. On another note they are not the most stable things with a full bucket on max vertical lift, I would be nervous of loading a high cube trailer on anything other than a hard surface, dropping a wheel into a rut or puddle on full weight/lift will be a brown trouser moment. Thats the same slip clutch coupling as on the TP that goes behind the Mog, that runs direct off the PTO (1000rpm and shaft straight to the rotor) and I always thought that it could do with a 2.1 gearbox or more to drop the engine revs. It just seems wrong to have the best part of six litres howling its nuts off to do the same job as a tiny kubota engine. I have applied some science to the subject. Left to right is a Tunnocks (brick), custard ream,bourbon,hob knob and far right a rich tea. The muts twostroke and diesel will decide which is best. Diesel made a lunge for the custard cream first ( ack) Twostroke grabbed the Tunnocks while Diesel hoofed down the Bourbon. Twostroke was kept busy with that Tunnocks so Diesel went in and covered hobnob and rich tea.

Tunnocks Wafers? As hard as a brick at anything other than room temperature , do you guys up north feed them through a chipper first or insert them in the man oven to preheat Bob:)

Thats what I thought Spud, from the states and paying full retail they are about £60 the pair,the spin on hydraulic was less than £20 three years ago.
