  2. Hi everyone.i just wanted to share a quick video and a photo but didn't know where to put so i thought this might be a good thread to start for good/bad/funny videos to cheer us up a little from current jobs so here it goes i ll start it with a quick video and a couple of photos from yesterdays work
  3. It really depends on where you go who you work for and other factors such as how much experience you have and how good you are.i would say on average annual salary of between 18.500 - 23000 which is not a lot compare to down south but like someone said life is slightly cheaper up here and quieter then chaotic London.
  4. Im just about to make a move on to utility after doing domestic or 4+ years some of the coments here worrying me little.company im planing to move is a big utility firm with lots of opportunities so seems a better option to what i have now for me to progress but worried might be doing more bush work then trees

  9. Hi guys.As you can guess from title im trying to decide which course to dive into that wont stress me too much as I want to do it in my free time and around the family life:001_rolleyes:.im a quick learner if I have someone explaining rather then reading it on the screen so even though I don't mind online courses I d love to attend to a class room environment at least couple of time s a week but it has to be afterwork.I know everyone's thinking there isn't an evening course or anything but I appreciate if you share your opinions and advise.ohh nearly forgot to mention I have all my tickets up to 41 and been in the game for 4 years so I d like to get some academic qualifications as a foundation for the future probably surveying future. thanks Erbs

    Pay

im not being funny but i think most guys would agree that climbing in the arb industry for jobs not same as climbing on a rock wall in leisure center so you really have 1year experience.

    Pay

just to spice it up a little bit more:) i actually started a similar subject end of last year and i was in similar position but im based in the North west so different part of country. ive got cs 30-31-32-38-39-41-47 cherry picker licence, first aid, costumer service level 3 qual, trailer licence.ive got nearly 4year experience and i take home about 70quit a day.my employer paid for all my training but they saved tone of money for the jobs ive done that even contractors wouldn't do it so ive asked for a pay rise early this year and got told i was on average for where we are:/ so big NO.im still working for them but keeping my eyes open for opportunities if not might go freelance one day.but its my personal circumstances made me stay.i had near enough same reaction from arbtalkers and i realise one thing its not how much you think you worth its how much your employer thinks your worth but dont forget every penny goes in your pocket comes out of theirs so they would rather keep it in theirs so its all comes down to your personal decision and choice mate...good luck
  21. im no expert on reductions but it looks natural and tidy
  22. i always go to local park around the corner.park ranger goes pass says hi not bothered but its always safer to let them know if you see them and good practice to use a friction saver to protect the trees from any damage if you are regularly climbing same trees especially
  23. im same I got quoted silly prices so I got stuck in and did it all by myself.do your research and let council know so you get building regs to visit.only if you are confident and competent enough to do it though...
