i had a word with manager a few month back about salary review and basically she said they haved checked it and they think im on avarage wage for what i do so no pay rise but ive asked for more training.ive just passed B+E and asked if they would pay for my RFS if not i ll pay it myself.Im hoping i ll be brave enough to start my own bussines when the time is right. But for now i ll stick with employment and do my best for the firm,

    Climb or mewp

ive climbed on a healthy tree last week to take down a dead tree(65ft) and when i started sectioning from top(second hand held piece ive cut)tree snapped from 2ft off the ground and i was holding the whole tree upright position and telling everyone to run:)i dropped it and smashed fence(nowhere to drop other then dropping on top of a shed, garage or fence.fence was the cheapest option:) BUUUT that seems safe enought to climb. 10. Im doing rfs starting in september.i work near enough 40 hrs a week and got 2 kids and a wife that never stops talking from the minute i walk in till i go to bed:) so hopefully it will be fine .id say go for it mate, sooner u do it better.
  11. i have done it.you do your mewp first then you need cs47 as some of others mentionedd.(cs47 use of chainsaw from a MEWP)other tickets doesnt cover you for using chainsaw from a mewp.and the asssesment suppose to be 3-4 hours.that includes pre-safety checks of mewp as far as i can remember,it might been change since.ive done it about 2 years ago.

  14. well even though i was checking them before every climb that wasnt somthing you would notice unless u know what you are looking for which in this case i ddnt know untill guys from 3atc noticed(loler inspectors) ofcourse thats not an excuse but this was a problem even DMM had to double check with us to see what was seen as a problem exacly anyway lesson learnt so any advice and tips pn how to clean them.
  15. you got a point there mate:thumbup1: sorry i forgat to mention that they were only geting stuck on side if you open them half and close them very slowly which i normally just open them fully or half and let it go if gate is closing nicely it was ok for me.ohh btw they only pass the LOLER couple of weeks before that but i got told that only appllys for that day:lol:
  16. Hi everyone. When guys where checking my kit before 3ATC(climbing comp)they have noticed that non of my carabiners were locking as they should of done so i couldnt use them for comp:thumbdown:.My boss was there that day and we got told to get in touch with DMM to see if they were faulty bunch. we just got a reply today and they said after an investigating and checking all parts of biners they found no fault with biners and graphite powder was stoping the gate cloesing properly:001_huh:they are going to repplace them for good will of gesture :thumbup1:so we have got told by DMM graphite powder was no good it. so i wonder what are your thoughts and what do you guys use to clean carabiners and keep working as they should.thanks

  21. Hi everyone.I have entered the 3ATC climbing competition for this Friday.i thought it would be a good experience but started to get little bit nervous reading the rules.I don't normally use any fancy setup sp i try and keep it simple as i can with just prusik but hitch climber setup occasionally.i would like to have a go at SRT but i dont realy have time to practice.so What sort of setup you guys use for comps:confused1:would i be ok to use just prusik because there was something in rules about not been allowed to use prusik:001_huh: for descending or have i read it wrong .Any advice and experience that :thumbup1:shared much appreciated :thumbup:THanks
