  1. There's a Stihl 088 with a 4' bar in Cambridge on Gumtree. I don't know if it's well priced at £500.
  2. Winds getting up here just now, it's gusting and howling in the chimney.
  3. So you don't get dyslexic women ?
  4. I like that idea as well. (It's Beech though)
  5. It looks like predictive text From Wikipedia:- Ghat As used in many parts of Northern South Asia, the term ghat refers to a series of steps leading down to a body of water, particularly a holy river.
  6. My niece came off her Bonneville and had to be taken to hospital, I rode the bike home with a Mole grip as gear lever. M8 ring spanner for stirring tea, dry cleaners wire coat hanger as gas welding wire on my Escort sill.
  7. Is it an ex-council tool ?
  8. Yes that's it
  9. Sorry that's the T540xp but he has pictures of the 560 mixed in with it.
  10. It's back up again here. It says in Coventry on location but London in his description. He sounds a bright spark.
  11. I did that on an old Escort I had. I used to keep 4 or 5 hanging on the indicator stalk as spares because I couldn't find a clip to replace the lost one. I was giving my mate a lift home from work and when I pressed the accelerator and nothing happened I jumped out and lifted the bonnet. He asked what was wrong and I said "the elastic band's gone, pass me a new one" and he swore at me.
  12. I read about a Solo 100cc twin cylinder saw as well. Here's something to read about twins on chainsaw collectors.
  13. I only mix in a litre bottle with the oil on top but I'm very careful about spilling fuel (tight git ) and use a filter funnel to decant it into the saw in case any bits get in it. I'm not too fussy about getting the ratio absolutely spot on as long as the oil colours the fuel.
  14. If you go to their website mowermarket are cheaper than their ebay prices and you can pay by credit card over the phone so any purchases are insured.
  15. I put a 1/8" drill through my left pinky and out the other side. Now we have petrol and battery powered tools you can mutilate yourself in totally new locations well away from electrical sockets. More people are injured with hammers than chainsaws is a statistic I once read and I have a black and blue thumb to testify to that but I would think you stand more chance of healing from a bruise than growing a limb back. My little Chinese top handle was bought to do a job and will get used again some time and it's not £500 sat doing nothing it was less than £100, just the cost of a good night out for some or a cheap night out for others.

    14" chain

Sharpen them till there's hardly any tooth left and don't forget to lower the rakers as well, even cheap chains have more than two goes in them. My friend bought a used saw and the chain teeth looked like bird claws they were so well used.
  17. Put a magnet on it, it looks like steel to me. It would weld or plate and rivet whether it's aluminium or steel and the weld will be stronger than the original metal.
  18. That's what gloves are for Only time I've injured myself with an angle grinder was using a wire cup brush and it put a pin prick in my cheek. I use fibre discs and backing pad a lot for finishing on metal, those chainsaw discs look like a good idea in theory but will probably kick back like a mule.
  19. Which size chip box though ?
  20. I think Tommy is looking at the cheap Chinese saws not second hand. I've read of people buying them for yard cutting and having no problems and others who have had bits breaking off and parts failing with no support or repairs back up. There are a few now like Mitox which are being built to a better standard with a spares network to support them.
  21. I bet they offered to do it for the free wood They'll pack up when the back garden is full.
  22. Somebody on here lost one in a pile of chip and found it again after a weekend so it can be done quite easily.
  23. Why don't they write the name on bars upside down on one side so when I turn my bar it still reads the right way up on the right side ? I know it doesn't matter but it bugs me a bit. Husqvarna bars are powder coated not painted aren't they ? Do you grease the bar nose sprocket and they still seize Dave ?
  24. Scrunched up newspaper and a few sticks, but if you gave me a bag of Doritos I'd be more inclined to burn than eat them it would be like burning cardboard which is what the taste reminds me of.
  25. Finished at £1325 with a last minute snipe by the look of it.
