  1. Do you get a service book with the saw ? I didn't with my Husqvarna 135 and it's not going to a dealer to be serviced. I do maintenance like turning and cleaning the bar out checking filters and greasing the bearing, general plug checking and anything else it needs. I wouldn't expect any problem if it went back, what proof of a service history could they ask for?
  2. I've not cut ours for a while, it's too soggy and there are worm casts which leave soil patches but it always picks up again.
  3. Not if they mean for digging out Racoons.
  4. Did the insurance pay out on that, who cut it down ?
  5. My latest hellish camping tool is the spident (it's like a spork but 3 prongs, demon approved) It's ongoing as I have to wait for the tree I'm making it from to grow to a workable size. Pot noodles will cower before me. Is that cat a pedigree, no it's a blend of Persian and Tabby

There's no mention of what the saw is doing in the original question. It could be fastened to a sawbench cutting firewood for all I know. If I was a 20 stone giant with hands like shovels I might prefer a larger saw. If we are going to move the goalposts the question is pointless. All I asked was how does the weight affect the power ? Obviously the lighter saw is the better option for anyone using it as you say.
  7. How can an angry person carve spoons and serve the Dark Lord and when does he get time off to deflower damsels ? I can see the place is going downhill and I am withdrawing my monthly sacrifice on the evidence I read here. (Probably will still do a chicken at full moon but I'm going to eat it next day if it's still there)

What difference does power to weight ratio make in a saw ? I can understand it in a car or bike as it is propelling the vehicle so it is an advantage but in a saw it is only driving the chain through the wood so the weight of the saw is only a factor due to the operator having to lift it.
  9. Long ago I crashed my car and was given a Nissan Cherry by my brother in law. I ran it for a year then tested it and gave it back, that showed him To emphasise the tax thing again, don't assume it's taxed because you have a disc, he should apply for a refund when he sends the V5 in and the fine will come to you automatically if you don't retax or sorn the vehicle when it is in your name.
  10. Does she just apply for these jobs then if she gets them you follow her round ? That seems a strange set up Sorry I have nothing constructive to add but I just had to ask. A friend of a friend went over there as a bike mechanic (he likes Harleys ) but he's back now after about 3 years as it was not what he envisaged.
  11. They speak very highly of you though, happy new year anyway:D
  12. There's a genuine one on ebay, lots of money and well used but the pictures show a lot of the differences like the top handle and chain knuckle guard.
  13. Prince Charles is on the case. Pine Martens seem to benefit the red squirrel by killing off greys. If red squirrels develop immunity to the disease the greys carry they would stand more chance of survival.
  14. You can buy a Chinese copy one on alibaba. It is identifiable by a shiny muffler and felling dogs. I read a rumour that the original genuine 070 was still available a few years ago from Mexico.
  15. Posting spade for digging and a post holer to scoop out the muck. My holer has wooden handles but it will get some steel ones welded in if it breaks.
  16. Carving up the freeway, it would have looked good painted red so it looked like a car.
  17. I'm pinning my hopes on a lottery win.
  18. Petrol's down in price, the economical 4.0 litre model should be the perfect one to take advantage of it.
  19. That's chrome plating and is only done on cheap tools to make them look shiny for magpies to collect them. Proper quality tools have the chrome in the steel not on top
  20. Saw Troll is their international correspondent I think he is on every forum on the internet where saws are mentioned.
  21. Like the notice in the fitting shop at the factory. The bloke who does favours is on holiday, his mate who lends tools has gone with him.

    Birch water

You can't tap birch at this time of year though. If you cut branch off when the sap starts rising it will run like a tap just stick a bucket under it.
  23. To start I'd buy a wrecker off ebay.... Check......
  24. Ducati already beat them to it with the Monster and it's horrible.
  25. It's all a bit too much like politics, which should be banned from forums or put in it's own little bit of forum so it can be ignored by anyone expecting to be reading about firewood.
