  3. So at the risk of sounding totally daft ,here goes ....so, my yard is concrete so why, if I have to move a log that’s been there for a while (especially upright) why are there always worms underneath??? I never see stealth worms wriggling across the yard, they don’t live in the bloody log so where do they come from??? how do they get there??? are they really an alien intelligence that’s mastered teleporting, just waiting their time to change shape and take over ....or am I reading too much science fiction???
  4. If you ain’t going to be happy with it don’t use it or you might always think why the f##k did I use that it would make an ace coffee table

  7. Hi Jon if I had a tow bar and a flat trailer no worries but that’s the problem and the timber isn’t worth spending much money on so might just have to tell the tree surgeon who has been paid to remove it that I can’t move the last of it it will probably piss him off but what else can I do
  8. I do hope you all like my blue Mohawk but my chainsaw hat does play havoc with the spikes
  9. Hi Steve it the notless butts I have left to move if I manage to move it you are welcome to some if you want it it’s bloody heavy it took 4 of us to carry a 10/12ft long plank 2and half inch thick , I do find it bonkers that I am willing to give this nice timber away for free to anybody who wants to come and get it I will even help load it .
  10. Hi guys I carve owls if anybody wants one give me a shout Cheers Mark
  11. Hi if you look at the 2nd picture it does not have any nots in the timber it’s from the base of the tree but it does have some nice figuring and almost spalting so worth milling , but hey if I have to ring it up then it will probably end up as fire wood .

  19. Hi guys thought I would give you an update on the monkey puzzle, I am going to collect it early doors Tuesday, our new mateys at our yard are going to help he has a lanky and a 2 tonne trailer , so the plan is to cut it into 10ft ish butts and roll , winch them onto his trailer , the top end bits should be light enough to get in my van as it was standing dead , hopefully take it all in one go will post some pics , hope it don’t bloody rain . Cheers Mark

  21. Hi me and a mate looked into becoming trainers yrs ago and unless something has changed , if you have a chainsaw ticked you are qualified to teach one on one so just find the required notes on what they need and go through it with them then call in an assessor, cross cutting and maintenance is easy , disassemble clean reassemble identify type of chain and file needed sharpen and then cut some logs up .easy
  22. Hi guys I had a go at clamping straight to the plank and nothing happened at all no sparks nothing so clamped to some 6inch nails then off it went , but not getting a consistent result I think I need to re earth my set up , where do you take your earth from . Cheers Mark
