    STIHL battery saw

Husky reckon a single battery charge equates to about one tank of fuel.... a single 4.0amp hour 36v battery is currently about £175inc vat. So on that basis the battery would have payed for itself within 35 gallons of petrol (at £5 per gallon). I've not counted how many fills I get out of my fuel can?... with a Husky 550xpg. Can someone help finish my maths?.... cheers, steve
  2. Last couple of days we've had snow, sleet, hail, rain, cloud, bitterly cold wind and warm breeze.... and full sun. That was in Newcastle Emlyn (West Wales). I also had my heated handles switched on and very lovely they were too cheers, steve
  3. Damn to Arbtalk!!.... distracted me and resulted in my breakfast getting burnt (it was a chocolate croissant) cheers, steve
  4. It's a quadruple edged sword: cheap oil seed rape oil in our saws = more oil seed rape fields + even more monoculture crop x billions of angry bees wanting to sting us. ....or maybe we should cut down our oldest forests for Palm Oil plantations. cheers, Steve
  5. They've done loads of stuff - most isn't even on their website. Our barn is waney clad with larch so think you may be thinking of another project. I think a lot of guests would be well up for paying to stay in a cabin that is proper rustic. cheers, steve
  6. I wouldn't want to clean the glass on the first or the second one. And all that nasty looking timber walling needs covering in some Welsh pebble dash. cheers, steve
  7. Charlie & Merrick (MC Rustics) helped build our barn (agriçultural) - they're lovely chaps & did an awesome job. Cheers, steve
  8. Hi Jon, that's a good plan. I've noticed the Husky oil being thinner than the Oregon.... certainly pours easier. Please pop a thread on Arbtalk when you start selling it.... cheers, Steve
  9. Didn't you need to submit drawings with your application? cheers, steve
  10. Lovely jubbly. Thanks for the explanation. Were they invented in Israel? Cheers, Steve
  11. Oh, yes, you are right.... they are £17.50 for one satchet. That's the kind of mistake I make first thing in the morning. I may have got distracted by the chocolate croissant crumbling over my lap! I have indeed young man. I saved myself a few pennies too - by washing them out. Now I'm confused!! Quite a few have given a thumbs up to the Israeli bandages and you are saying to go for an impregnated bandage. Is similar to a Stihl vs Husky moment?! cheers, steve
  12. I was just perusing chainsaw stuff and glanced upon this.... thought it would be sensible to get a few satchets to leave in my gear bag or attach to the fuel can. £15 seems a reasonable price for a few satchels: Celox blood clotting granules - Chainsaw Specialists Does it have a limited shelf life/ any other thoughts?... cheers, steve
  13. I'm currently on a 25 litre tub of Husqvarna chain oil (it was on offer). It's very good quality oil, much better than the Oregon. cheers, Steve
  14. Have you considered having Kune Kune pigs for grazing your grass? Unlike sheep they won't eat your orchard trees.... Kunekune Pigs - DaleHouseFarm.com cheers, Steve
  15. Yep thankyou... that's the one: cheers, steve
  16. Thats a lovely heartwarming video. 11/10 What's that strange curling leaf? Good share Murray. cheers, Steve
  17. That's not something I've thought about 'til now. Probably because I use a proper saw. cheers, steve
  18. I'm starting to see the appeal of having a battery saw (with plenty of spare batteries) for small felling and snedding.... alongside a bigger saw running Aspen. cheers, steve
  19. Pants? .... it may be a hybrid.... a Turkey oak cross pollinated with another oak. Not nescesarily pants but possibly pants. It may also not be pants at all. Looks like it has a good section of heartwood...that's in comparison to a few genuine Turkey oaks that's I've felled / with very little heartwood (hairy buds are probably the best way to find out if it's genuine Turkey oak). cheers, Steve

    Lazy Oak

Maybe it knows something that the others don't. hmmm cheers, steve
  21. I may be wrong (often am) but isn't it advised to flip the bar after every day's work (or thereabouts)? cheers, steve
  22. That's excellent news! In all honesty I thought it was gone for good, (or should I say, gone for bad). Cheers, steve
  23. Were you using a Piranha chain?.... I had one hear the bar up the same colour along the edge, but it didn't wear anything like that!! cheers, steve
  24. Haha! Yeah that is so true. cheers, steve
  25. If he's grumpy (and young) now... what's he gonna be like when he's old? cheers, steve
