  1. Thanks and yeah I'll call them in advance and maybe I should stock up on more. In long term it would far easier if someone stocked it closer to home / Haverfordwest. Cheers, steve
  2. That looks pretty darn good - made by RugGear too so must be well made. How much is that? Doesn't look cheap. cheers, steve
  3. My nearest dealer (15 miles away) ran out of stock on Aspen so I had to revert to pump fuel again. Result: The headaches have come back and got a snotty burning sensation at the back of my throat. cheers, steve
  4. I didn't notice you could get summer & winter versions. Wouldn't it be best to wear more breathable footwear in the summer.... like a pair of Jesus boots (sandals). cheers, steve
  5. That's pretty cool. Like that. Rather splendid. Nice one. Cheers, steve
  6. Still not managed to find out what's wrong with it then. Are you the only person in the UK that has one?.... seem very rare. cheers, steve
  7. I tried finding something similar to what you're describing.... closest thing I could find was the RipSaw.... it's a small bandsaw unit that runs on a chainsaw head. Unfortunately they aren't easy to come by and aren't exported to the Uk.... they also have reliability issues (from what I've gathered). It's surprising nobody has come up with an alternative yet as I imagine there must be lots of Alaskan owners that would like to plank up with a truly portable bandsaw unit. Think of it along the lines of an 'Alaskan Bandsaw Mill', if ya like. cheers, steve p.s.. RipSaw website here: http://www.ripsaw.com/ripsaw.html
  8. Darn, that's a really important missing element in that setup. Has it stuffed your work lined up or have you got access to another trailer? cheers, steve
  9. Think you've gotten confused between the original posters MOG trailer vs Vespasians trailer.... cheers, steve
  10. I tend to get a bit addicted to surfing the internet so I don't think a smart phone would be a smart idea. I got the Aldi rugged connected to our wi-fI last night and fortunately it's rubbish at web stuff. The battery is 2000mah so should last a fair while. My partners got an iPhone and is forever charging it or running out of battery.... yeah, the technology is great, but only if it powers up! cheers, steve
  11. having stuff stolen is a horrible feeling. Hope you can find it. cheers, steve
  12. ah, in that case I'll keep my receipt and packaging. Been trying to get it to connect to the internet at home.... it's confusing, bout to pour another red wine (also pirchased at Aldi). cheers, steve
  13. Okay - so I kind of popped out to buy a couple of pizzas from Aldi and noticed this in a locked glass cabinet.... I asked a member of staff to find the keys to the locked display cabinet. Too much of a bargain not to be missed, and it was the last one they had in stock, at about £40, (£45 inc two pizzas, grapes and a tub of milk). So now I have an Aldi Workzone phone to match my Lidl Florabest strimmer; darn I love the aisle of dreams!! cheers, Steve
  14. The Sonim looks great but is alotta £wedge. I've kind of got it down to either a CAT B100 or a RugGear RG100.... kind of leaning towards the RugGear because the torch looks great and it has alotta battery power: RugGearUK, Makers of the toughest mobile devices, RG100 It's a touch over £100... Worth it?? cheers, Steve
  15. Yet another Spud success story!
  16. Hey thanks for that.... I'll check it out. cheers, steve
  17. I've sometimes wondered if there's any benefit in angling the back cut slightly downward (whilst keeping the whole back cut above the hinge). I've tried it on a few slightly (very slightly) back leaning trees with no problems. Have I invented a new cut?.... cheers, Steve
  18. In case you don't already know; there is another inbox on Facebook called 'Message Requests' (greyed out next to 'Recent').... click 'Message Requests' then 'See filtered requests'. Could be that you have more messages from people there? Cheers, steve
  19. Best to find local small farmers/ smallholders/ horticulturists ....as chip is ideal for paths between raised beds and they are likely to take as much as you can offer. cheers, steve
  20. You can borrow mine if you want it. Cor wow thanks Murray!! Top man. I'd wax polish it for you too. cheers, steve
  21. Thanks for all the advice and user reviews. Nice one. I'm getting closer to buying a phone because the speaker on my phone is barely audible. (it's gone really, really uber quiet). (Everyone calling sounds like they are macro sized and from Honey I Shrunk The Kids). Somebody left me an answerphone message but it's so quiet and distant I had to give up and delete it. Sorry if it was you. Okay, so I really don't need a SmartPhone (as nice as they look). What I really need is a phone that: - has a battery that only needs charging once per week. - is dirt cheap - has a torch built into it - is waterproof Do Nokia make a basic waterproof phone like that? (I already have a Nokia battery charger so that would save me a few quid). cheers, steve
  22. Thanks pal, after all these years I'd never realised :-o ... If you worked with him you'd understand :-) There is something inherently satisfying about taking a living tree and chopping it into a million tiny pieces... the satisfaction is heightened even more by the ironic fact that I am a member of the Green Party & take a keen dislike for any human being being 'greener than thou'. However, when it comes to using chemicals (eg; Roundup) I am THE Mr Greener Than Thou. I think the point of my question was that I would like to own my very own chipper. Unfortunately I've since learnt that chippers are way beyond my means so I won't be buying one, even the cheapest one. Think I might hire one. cheers, Steve
  23. Hi all I'm looking to make a few farm gates (field gates) for our farm.... I would like to make them out of oak and have them looking fairly rustic. I've not made any gates before, (or posts for hanging them on) so after some ideas and advice. Cheers, steve p.s... I've got an Alaskan vertical & mini mill but not used it yet ~ would like to have a play with that.
  24. I thought he was asking about a missing fence post.
